Here’s the article from the Seattle Times from April ‘08.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/politics/2004334057_obama08m.html
Is there any evidence that Malcolm X ever had any sexual relationships with any white woman during this time? Somehow I'm skeptical of it. That would definitely run counter to his black separatist and black superiority ideology.
The resemblance between Obama and Malcolm Little, aka X, is uncanny.
But I have no idea where AtlasShrugs got the information of Malcolm X being in Seattle in the 1960.
Malcolm X is very well documented.
I even have the African American History Timeline here that hosts paper and digital libraries for University of Washington, Seattle. They have Malcolm X books and speeches; but none from 1960.
Excerpt:
1951-2000:
(1952) Charlotta Bass, Acceptance Speech for Vice Presidential Candidate of the Progressive Party
(1963) Martin Luther King Jr., I Have a Dream
(1964) Fannie Lee Chaney, Meridian Awakened
(1964) Malcolm Xs Speech at the Founding Rally of the Organization of Afro-American Unity
If anyone sees AtlasShrugs source, please ping me.
>>>Is there any evidence that Malcolm X ever had any sexual relationships with any white woman during this time?
No. And if anyone actually knew about Malcolm X, they be very, very skeptical right now.
A brief excerpt:
“...Dunham had hoped to join many of her classmates at the University of Washington, and was also accepted to the University of Chicago....But her father was restless. He found sales work in Hawaii......”
So the Dad, with he and a wife with jobs in Seattle and the daughter accepted to UW, pick up and leave for Hawaii. Lots of folks do stuff like that of course. But it would also be a good move to get your daughter away from the radical elements of society - especially if you found out she was pregnent by some radical black guy.
The article goes on with quotes from her friends that she wasn’t the type to get married, etc. - they couldn’t believe it. It made no sense. (Of course back in 1960, if you had a baby, even more so a white girl with a black baby, you better be married).
Can you excerpt a source stating that Malcolm X was in Seattle in 1960?
There was something on the net about a gal seeing Malcom X and MLK at the Seattle World’s Fair in 1961 (summer I suppose?) Still not 1960 of course!
And I know almost nothing about Malcom X - so will assume from your comments, and from what little I do know of him, that he hated whites. Not sure that would preclude him from a one-night stand with a white girl to show his authority over her, dominance, etc.
Malcolm X’s history and speeches are very well documented. I can’t place him in Seattle in 1960 either.
So, we cannot assume Stanley Ann was with Malcolm X. Nor can we assume that Obama is Malcolm X’s son.
The resemblance is there; but that is all.
From a review of the movie Malcolm X:
“He was the brightest student in his classes but was steered away from ambitious career choices by white teachers..... and then, in Harlem, he became a numbers runner and small-time gangster.
During that stage of his life, in the late 1940s, he was known as “Detroit Red,” and ran with a fast crowd - including white women who joined him for sex and burglaries. Arrested and convicted, he was sentenced to prison.... Prison was the best thing that happened to Red, who fell into the orbit of the Black Muslim movement of Elijah Muhammad and learned self-respect.”
So - perhaps while in prison and later he developed a greater hatred of white people. But earlier on it sounds like he preferred the attentions of white women.
By 1962, Dunham had returned to Seattle as a single mother, enrolling in the UW for spring quarter
Earlier reports said a friend had to show her how to change a diaper when she arrived in - Mercer Island, or Seattle - in 1961 with three week old baby Barry.
From where? Kenya? Vancouver, Canada?
Find him with a white woman after he converted.
No one is disputing that. We have pondered that interview since Null and Void posted it on the big blogger thread.
Opps. Did a further check on the Seattle Worlds Fair based on the recollection of someone that saw him speak there. That someone said 1961. The Seattle Worlds Fair opened in April, 1962. And who knows if that recollection of Malcolm X speaking was even correct!? (In your ealier list you have him in Seattle in 1963).
The Malcolm X similarities is fun. But let’s be careful with it unless we can hard source him in Seattle for 1960. Freeper 21twelve even just debunked a net rumor that had Malcolm X in Seattle for 1961.
.
.
Apparently, he visited Seattle in 1961, a little too late to be Daddy.
“The Malcolm X similarities is fun. But lets be careful...”
Agreed its fun, and a mystery - but probably pointless. Now, to tie Obama into Malcolm X’s brand of radicalism is probably a lot easier to do. But pretty hard to get that point across to the undecided voters that only get their news from CNN and ABC at 7 pm every night.
Actually I heard good one today from a cuban friend that said Ann Dunham went to Cuba and was impregnated there before she went to Hawaii and met Obama sr who she wooed and tricked into marrying her while she was four monthes preggers.
Meanwhile, I've been pondering why the Susan Blake interview has 'disaperated' from the 'net...
