TIME TO TURN OFF THE TELEVISION
10-29-08 | SMARTY

I think it's pretty obvious that the MSM is NOT serving ALL American voters in this election-and has not for a very long time.

Also... I work at a survey research center, and I can tell you that even if the MSM was scrupulously unbiased in its presentation of survey results, it would not matter. The surveys themselves are utterly skewed and the data is worthless.

This country conducted elections before the age of 24/7 television hype so I say... return to THAT scenario. We don't need to be perpetually deluged with eroneous data in order to make up our minds. Besides, if your mind is not made up at this point, you cannot call yourself having a 'mind'.

TURN OFF THE TV

I have always done this.

Its funny how whenever I turn off my TV, my grill suddenly fires up, a cold beer suddenly opens, my kids start playing with something outside, the front door opens and I breathe fresh air all of a sudden. I find myself doing something besides wasting hour after hour in front of the tube. Its really amazing because it happens every time I turn the TV off.

I agree. Television, particularly the news has become an Orwellian misinformation/propaganda chute. I stopped watching some time ago, and it was a bit like stopping smoking for me (I was addicted to news shows), but I’m now “clean” and not nearly as agitated all the time.

More needs to be done.
Too many sheep in the audience, and not enough independent thinkers out there for this approach to have ANY impact.

What needs to happen is a backlash against the sponsors... not the messengers. The messengers are replaceable. The reputation of the sponsors is NOT.

The same tactics that the MSM have used against the truth and those who believe in it need to be deployed against the sponsors who have funded the lies.

Just the opposite should occur... we should watch more of the MSM, paying particular attention to advertising.
We should be able to tell who is really behind the lies by who is spending the most money.

GO AFTER THE SOURCE!... this will take out both dirty birds with the same stone.

While I am against a “fairness doctrine” that “ensures” all political viewpoints are aired, I do believe that the FCC has a regulatory role when the media engages in Ratherbiased presentations of fraudulent documents as fact.

Their broadcasting licenses should be in jeopardy over such abuse of power.

Even Foleygate was built on several lies (that Foley had molested young boys and that the GOP “knew” and did nothing).

Also, the Primary process will need to be overhalled by the next election. Our nomination process was hijacked this year by Democrats and “independents” crossing over in the early state primaries. and the media was eager to help determining which candidates would get debate coverage (anyone seen Ron Paul today?).

When Obama announced that he would buy air time for his 30 minute "infomercial", it was noted that if necessary, the start of game 6 of the World Series was going to be delayed to accommodate his "show".

Funny how the Philadelphia stadium wasn't dry enough to complete the rained out Monday game on Tuesday. The announcers on Sunday made a big deal out of how the drainage system was "state of the art" at that field.

IF the game had been completed last night and Philly won, the series ended then and there and Obamas Wednesday audience of sports fans is taken away.

Who is playing games with the TV schedule? MSM or DNC or both?

Twas the night before elections

And all through the town

Tempers were flaring

Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe

With a cat in my lap

Had cut off the TV

Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden

There arose such a noise

I peered out of my window

Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet

They wanted my pay

To give to the others

Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money

And quick as a wink

Jumped back on his bandwagon

As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen

Who were pulling his cart

I could tell they were out

To tear my country apart!

’ On Fannie, on Freddie,

On Biden and Ayers!

On Acorn, On Pelosi’

He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause

And as he flew out of sight

I heard him laugh at the nation

Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think

On this one final note-

IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM

GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

“Our nomination process was hijacked this year by Democrats and “independents” crossing over in the early state primaries”

Also, by an MSM which under reported the issue or looked the other way.

I feel the same way you do. I won’t even watch Fox News much.

It’s not because I wanna avoid hearing bad news. I can handle the bad news without it popping my ego or hopes too badly.

I’m sick of the pro-Obama, anti-GOP talking points continually fed at us by the MSM.

This will be my 7th presidential election and I have absolutely never seen the MSM (be it electronic or print) go so badly in the tank for Obama and the Democrats.

It’s horrifying actually to watch our media do this. A biased media is not a sign of a democracy in action. It’s the beginning of the end.

And worse yet, there are millions out there (ranging from the indcredibly dense to the incredibly intelligent) who can’t or won’t exercise the common sense to wade thru the waves of crap thrown at us by the MSM.

Many of them will sit in their student dorms andgo “Golly gee, Barack Obama is a true patriot. He’s soooo telegenic and sincere too.”
