Ask them if they agree on the Scotus decision on eminent domain where property was taken by a local government and given to a developer. The argument legal presented was the improvement of the tax base.
Most people side with the original property owner. The fact that the liberals on the court sided with the “takings” shows that they do not believe you have property rights. Only the government has property rights.
This result falls right in line with the liberal belief that they, and only they, should decide how much of your property you can keep at the end of the day; i.e., taxes. Because, after all, in their view it isn’t really yours!

Finish with the question of how 95% of people will pay lower taxes, when 30-40% don’t pay income tax now? And how can capital gains taxes nearly double without causing anyone who makes less than $250,000/yr to pay more taxes? Clearly, this guy is saying anything he thinks will get him elected.
I think you first need to listen to why they are undecided if you haven’t already. That will enable you to respond more effectively.
