... Sarah Palin is in revolt, its reported, angry that John McCains handlers forced her to wear haute couture; that shes not been able to be herself before the media; and that Republican campaign strategy -- like the decision to give up on Michigan -- is askew.
....
It's all about the political makeover of the Republican Partys new great hope.
For many senior Republicans, Obama appears sure to prevail Nov. 4 ...
Advice is already incoming: She should at all costs avoid running for Congress, writes Ron Bonjean, former communications director for Speaker Dennis Hastert and Senate majority leader Trent Lott.
If Palin ran for the Senate, she quickly becomes part of the establishment, he says, advising her to return to Alaska where she can remain politically active as its chief executive, yet still build on her new-found fame.
He also suggests party chiefs should surround Palin with the brightest people, meaning they cannot be friends or neighbours with questionable qualifications.
In what would mark a strategic shift in the way the party promotes its 2012 candidate, Bonjean says Palin should lead a recruitment drive among people serving in local, city and state offices who could spread the Palin Change message across America.
As for this election, McCains folly at not having picked Mitt Romney as his running mate is now all too apparent as the economy dives. The Republican presidential candidates turn southward in the polls mirrored the mid-September shock to the world financial markets, which propelled the economy and its future to the number one concern of U.S. voters.

Wow, what a bunch of lies! I expected better from you
I’m fine, I suppose, totally out of touch here in Obamastan. (MA)
Can’t believe the ascendancy of Obama.
There is one ray of light, despite being endorsed by Kerry, Kennedy and the Princess Caroline, Obama lost to Hillary.
In the last 2 elections, the Dem won by a 2 to one margin.
Let’s see if the spread holds this time around.
It always kills me when the losers have the audacity to tell a winner how to win. Palin doesn’t need any of this stupid advice and the best thing she can do is ignore them and be herself. This is Ronald Reagan all over again. When he started losing primaries he fired his campaign manager, Sears, and did it his way.
What he says publically, and what he does behind the scenes can be two different things.
That’s the point. The more we fire our ammo at each other, the less firepower being aimed at them. Dolts have always taken the bait, without any shame
I can’t recall the last time the bs-was spread so thickly as this thread. Wow. You folks deserved JM as a candidate!
Prove it. Or STHU
Living in MA must be true suffering.
I can’t believe Obama’s ascendency, either. I grew up in New York City in 50’s-60’s (I was a child in the 50’s and went to high school and college in the 60’s).
The people who are gaining power are the people who were about 10 years older than I was, but were very influential in my age group. The SDS people and Columbia radicals were somewhat older than I was, for example, but I personally knew or had met a lot of them, because I went to one of NYC’s “elite” high schools.
I hated them then. They were all privileged, arrogant SOB’s . And they still are. I thought most of them had failed in the 1970’s and I never thought I’d live to see them winning. If Barry wins, 1968 has won. This is a nightmare for me.
By the way, team player, Mitt Romney was standing right next to McCain TODAY during his economic speech.
Republican presidential candidate Arizona Senator John McCain, seen here flanked by Ebay CEO Meg Whitman(L) and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, launched the final week of his election campaign Monday with a searing attack on Barack Obama, claiming his rival's economic policies would lead to a "deeper more painful recession. "
Huh? What are you talking about?
Just about every Freeper who lives in MA wrote in to complain about Romney’s policies.
He’ll be cool and groovy with the O man.
McCain/Palin are going to win.
Your only other option is a communist muslim sleeper-agent terrorist crack-smoking homo who intends to start a genocidal un-civil war against whitey. Choose wisely.
Really. Talk about lemmings.
Interesting! I didn’t know that. Thanks.
“Yeah, two rich white guys would really generate some excitement. These guys are in Romney dreamland. Keep it up Mitt and you wont get nominated Republican Dogcatcher.”
I’d have voted for a McCain-Romney ticket, but it’s undeniable that the Republican base wouldn’t have liked that ticket. McCain wouldn’t be in this at all if he hadn’t picked someone who gets the base fired up.
And as you said, the press would have hammered the two rich white guys ticket. Plus, there’s the Mormon problem with Romney. It’s unfair, but polls show Americans have an issue with voting for a Mormon.
Ironic, considering that the polls show Americans have much less of a problem voting for an African-American, and yet all we hear about is racism.
Good! I'm really glad to see that. I have not been favorably impressed by Romney, but I would be happy to see him come out strongly in support of the ticket.
>>Living in MA must be true suffering.
It’s the memory of Romney’s reign that keeps me going now ;> What a principled conservative, and the way he took on the local hacks, a profile in never getting his hair mussed. On the bright side, when he was gallivanting all over the country, we hardly missed him, since when he was here, he didn’t do much. Rather, did nothing.
Drove by a very, very exclusive yacht club near the coast here, and the amount of Obama stickers on Volvos, RangeRovers and Benzes!
As I told Shermy, the bright side may well be the fastest case of buyer’s remorse ever, as no way can he satisfy the expectations he has created.
Same is true down here in North Florida. I honestly can't imagine what these folks are thinking.
BTW.. guess who is going out to campaign FOR McCain all by himself???? Joe The Plumber!!! spread the news.
Actually, they endorsed Bush in 2004.
