A group of scientists is building the world’s most evil computer program. This isn't a B-movie setup: A team at Rensselaer Institute’s AI & Reasoning Lab is bringing personified evil to virtual life in the hope that they'll unlock the secrets of human morality. The researchers have given their creation a face and a name, and quiz it daily, using its answers to further blacken its hideous character.

What if the program is really evil that it tries to redistribute wealth without people realizing it?

Lol, I love the Skynet comments at the link.

It could run for president.
It's not like we have the right to challenge it and make it prove that it's human.

This would say a lot about the designer’s mentalities. If given the resources what would you make?

and quiz it daily, using its answers to further blacken its hideous character. Are they quizzing it on whether it is a Marxist? (Oops, they said blacken in a bad way... off the Alinsky camps for reeducation with the.)

Microsoft did this a good while back. It’s called Vista. Their Millennium Edition didn’t do the trick.

I think more accurately it reflects the character of Sid 6.7 from Virtuosity, also noted at the link. The philosophy behind Skynet was that it became self-aware and fought back against it “captors” with whatever means it had available. It’s an odd sense of “machine freedom.”

old news... he is called Obamamessiah.

It's been done:

Create a pure evil AI?
Good thinking, right up there with super-intellegent killer wasps, cyborg rottweilers, and cloned dinosaurs. Proof that scientist don't watch the many science fiction movies, and that its creators have never seen Virtuosity.

I guess I'm confused.
I thought this would be about any MS program after DOS 6.0
