One blogging group in particular is the PUMAs.
What would happen if a power-hungry President were to play tricks with the draft? Could he use the draft as an excuse to:
1. Use draftees for slave labor [in the name of 'civil service']?
2. Put adults from age 18 to 41 into reeducation camps?
These are the kinds of things that PUMAs and other bloggers fear.
What first fueled this concern was Michelle Obama in a California speech:
"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zone . . . Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual - uninvolved, uninformed."

This is going to be our new First Lady? She's eager for her husband to force us to work [his way] and to be informed [his way]. It certainly sounds like slave labor and reeducation. What, pray tell, did her husband tell her? What other mechanism would a president Obama have than the draft itself? It sounds far fetched, but since Obama is hiding the details, what are we left to conjecture?
The clincher was Joe Biden's ominous warning:
1. A manufactured crisis within six months
2. Solutions that will cause Obama's poll ratings to plummet.
"Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
Here's a little more of what Biden said:
“There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision’,” Biden continued. “Because if you think the decision is sound when they’re made, which I believe you will when they’re made, they’re not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they’re popular, they’re probably not sound.”
That was the last straw for some PUMAs. They smell a rat. I can't blame them. Guess who said this?
"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis..." -- David Rockefeller.
PUMAs are beginning to to take notice of a Obama comment on military service at Columbia: “If we are going into war, then all of us go, not just some.” They also noticed that Obama wants females included in the draft.
Then there was this: "I will call on a new generation of Americans to join our military.... I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots, and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their efforts connected to a common purpose."

They fear Obama having the power of the draft. Should we?

And guess what name pops up? Bill Ayers. Ayers shifted from terrorism to radical indoctrination of youth through education. [That's professor material in many of today's universities.]
Bill Ayers has been practicing how to radicalize students for a long time now. It's clearly a passion of his.
Maybe these dots don't connect, but more people all the time are beginning to think they do.
Draft riots of 2009. I think such a scheme would bring him down.

If people are armed with warnings ahead of time. Otherwise, people would unite under the President in a crisis.

Funny thing, that, people who took him at his word were ridiculed, right up to, and well beyond the point where it was Krystal (Nacht) clear that he was serious!

He said he wants a Civil corps as large as the military. His wife said he will put everyone to work. He said that if there’d be a draft, it would also be for women. Can you do the math?
Sure have. Reading Reagan’s Diary, right now (it’s HUGE) and the biography of Neil Armstrong. I still think they’re are a bit too many folks who are either under or over medicated making these vast leaps of logic.
I do. Jobs in my field are very few and far between in this country. At least now I'm starting to get a few interviews.
It's so nice when your own government's policies have both moved your job overseas where there are fewer taxes and regulations, and imported millions of low cost H1-B's to compete with you for the American jobs that have survived.
That reminds me, I need to take my meds.

I never insinuated anyone was stupid. Only that some seemed to be making huge assumptions, likely based on ODS.
This is the Thoene blog. They write Christian historical fiction and have at least two series dealing with the Jews during WWII and the founding of Israel. They have a series of articles on their blog about the similarities of how Hitler came into power and what is happening with Barak Obama. One article in particular, by Lori Kalner, is quite interesting.
I’m 25 and I don’t think people my age or younger would take kindly to a draft of any kind. I envision massive non-compliance.
I don’t think the kind of selflessness that used to exist does any longer. Young adults and their parents will flock to polls over that issue if Obama makes it one.
Remarkable isn’t it?
This country must dodge this bullet, and set up a young, vibrant conservative voice to carry on past McCain. This is a last gasp for the fellow travelers.
I agree with those views of the facts and that sentiment as well.
He doesn’t know much about human nature does he?
The hilarious thing is that the anarcho, Green Peace, Moveon.org and other far-lefty types now chanting "Obama, Obama..." would be the first to recoil in horror at the suggestion of mandatory government service.
As a people, are we really that different for Germans, Cubans, Ukrainians, or Cambodians?
Why won't it happen here? The soil? The water? Our air is different?
Not if that mandatory government service promotes their twisted goals. Then they'll applaud it.
I doubt it. That doesn’t sound at all like young lefties to me.
