[The author] takes the perspective of alien explorers arriving on earth - their geologists study the layers of rock, using the many clues to piece together its history over several billion years...
Dr Zalasiewicz said: "From the perspective of 100 million years in the future â a geologist's view â the reign of humans on Earth would seem very short: we would almost certainly have died out long before then. What footprint will we leave in the rocks? What would have become of our great cities, our roads and tunnels, our cars, our plastic cups in the far distant future? What fossils would we leave behind? ...
"Looking to the distant future gives us a warning for the present: our activities have already left a significant footprint on the planet, and not a flattering one. It is not too late to limit it. We would not wish to be dubbed by future explorers the 'amazingly clever and utterly foolish two-legged ape'."
Zalasiewicz's book "The Earth After Us: What Legacy Will Humans Leave In The Rocks?" is published by Oxford University Press.

Good points! Of course, what would happen instead is that the subsequent natural erosion will be used as an alibi against admission of the obvious fact that these large quarried structures are artificial. ;’)
“Man fears time. Time fears the Pyramids.” — old saying
In 100 million years, we, or rather the Earth and whomever comes after us, will have been exposed to a great many threats from space. :’)

Luckily, none of the Slimes’ editions will have survived.
Slow change can also lead to non-viability and extinction. :’)
Well, I'm trying, but I got a day job too, ya know! :-)
And, don’t forget, “Is FR down? Not getting anything here in San Antonio”
I’m not a media maniac, but why doesn’t someone take the scene from The Planet of the Apes where Charleton Heston comes across the broken Statue of Liberty (and says essentially “You fools, you stupid fools”) and substitute a giant broken statue of Lord Obama.
They’d find a picture of a bunch of enviro-wackos smiling from ear to ear.
Mr. Velikovsky, please pick up the white courtesy phone...
LOL!
Maybe we can all live forever and watch it happen.
Oh. Wait. We don’t want to do that, do we?
It won’t make any difference if there are no humans (or other intelligent species) to record it.
Actually, that sounds like a great idea. Maybe add a couple of 747s sticking through the head, like that fake arrow Steve Martin used to use...
