My hope is that this does not become "training" for US soldiers to replicate in US cities under a President B. Hussein Obama Administration.

It is my hope that said soldiers would reject such an order.

Does this mean that the only guys that have weapons in Baghdad are the bad guys and our military? I pity the poor Iraqi when our troops leave. There’s no way I would voluntarily turn-in my weapons.

If they can’t defend themselves a lot more of them are going to start disappearing and dying.

I think this is very wrong. Just another reason to be thankful I was born when and where I was.

There was recently a thread about troops returning from Iraq/Afgan that were being trained to deal with crisis here in the US. (natural disasters, civil unrest, etc.)

You’re right, I remember reading that as well. I think it’s one of the Brigades of the 3rd Infantry Division that has been assigned to “NorthCom”

I’d like to believe that but many of the power elites in this country no longer view the US Constitution as any kind of impediment to their plans. ...think gun confiscations after Hurricane Katrina for one.

That hasn’t stopped NFA ‘34, GCA ‘68, Brady Act ‘93, and AWB ‘94. What makes you think the Constitution will halt another major firearms ban and/or confiscation?

Interesting.
Can anyone who's been in-country confirm or deny this?

Unless it is a liberal president who will get what he wants from a liberal Supreme Court, who will find what they want in made-up emanations and penumbrae of the Constitution.

I have faith in our soldiers who are largely private gun owners themselves.
