“Do we let it go and have hundreds of thousands of people die ..."

THAW

Back in May, it was announced that Val Kilmer would be starring in a new eco-horror film called The Thaw. In the flick, some scientists come across a thawing Woolly Mammoth in a melting ice cap. Supposedly, rising world temperatures due to global warming are behind the discovery. Anyways, that Woolly is packing a deadly parasite that has laid dormant (and hungry we might add) for thousands of years. As you can deduce, everyone becomes infected and all hell breaks loose.
There were those that were suspicious whether or not this film would ever get made — but it looks like we’re now in for a 2009 release. Smallville’s Aaron Ashmore recently commented on the flick saying, “It’s an eco-thriller, something’s basically melting up in the north and they’re doing research up there and stumble on it.”
That something is the deadly parasite. “Do we let it go,” he continued, “and have hundreds of thousands of people die yet change everybody’s opinion of global warming? Or, do we quarantine it and save lives?
It’s a moral dilemma.”Adding to that choice is the revealing info that Val Kilmer plays a former eco-terrorist. Obviously, his character’s opinion on the world’s need for environmental stewardship might weigh heavily on the outcome.
Should be a good scare — look for The Thaw sometime in 2009!

McCain should jump on this opportunity to save the planet and get the Hollyweird endorsement all in one fell swoop.

Clive Cussler wrote a book with a plot something like this. Juan Cabrillo saved the day, of course.

Imagine them saying "Its a moral dilemma" here is is the choice. Kill hundreds of thousands of people to supposedly prove "Global Warming" which it woudn't at all. vs Not killing hundreds of thousands of people ...

We've got a nuclear crisis with North Korea and Iran.
We have an economic crisis.
The economic crisis may lead to a food crisis (my understanding is that Iceland is in real trouble with this).
All we really need now is a really bad biological problem -- and there was a report of a new hemorrhagic fever just a few days ago ...
I don't know if Obama is the antichrist, but if the endtimes are upon us, I won't be surprised.

Sounds like a line out of Shyamalan’s B-movie “The Happening” with its hysteria unleashed.

People devoid of morality embarrass themselves when they use terms like “moral dilemma.”

Wasn’t there an X-Files episode about something like this?
In any case, since it’s a horror movie, it must follow horror movie laws, and therefore the deadly parasite WILL wreak havoc and kill people no matter what the characters decide to do with it. The ‘moral dilemma’ aspect is just a lame attempt to try to get a horror movie taken seriously.

That something is the deadly parasite. Do we let it go, he continued, and have hundreds of thousands of people die yet change everybodys opinion of global warming? Or, do we quarantine it and save lives? Its a moral dilemma. NO the Left's "moral dilemma" (as espoused by PETA and the hardcore "rationalists") is that all life is equal. Who are WE to kill off this parasite? It existed long before we did. It has a RIGHT to exist. If it kills man then maybe WE deserve it. THAT is the Moral delemma for the Left.

I haven’t heard anyone claiming that ebola is caused by global warming.

Look at the time frame from WWI-WWII. Swine flu epidemic, stock market collapse, the rise of Fascism and Communism in Europe, the Holocaust, abortion and forced sterilization in the US, Wiemar Republic hedonism, Jazz Age hedonism, gangsterism in the US (bank robbery, turf war). And it ends with atomic destruction.
We've seen such upheaval before. And it can get really ugly.

Shouldn't that be "lain dormant?" Yes. The number of people who can correctly conjugate "lie" and "lay," and use them correctly in sentences, grows smaller every year. We should hold a reunion while we can still drive ourselves :-).

Given Val Kilmer’s recent weight gain, I would have thought he was playing the part of the Wooly Mammoth. ;-)
