There’s a bunch of credit folks scared crapless as to what is going to come out of the Lehman work-out with respect to the counterparties.

The psychological effects have already been taken into account. The market is a mechanism for discounting expectations about the future. The bailout failed. Already.

And rightfully so. All the structures proposed so far do nothing to send bad managers to the unemployment line, shareholders to lose their investments, and home “owners” into foreclosure where they each belong.

Until that happens, all they’ve done is paper over real problems with additional Moral Hazard dollars conjured from mid-air.

I still don't get the FR culture of poll worship. Sometimes I think people here would believe a poll that samples 999 Democrats and 1 Republican.
