. . . First, they introduced an established revolver in a new caliber, the SP101 chambered for ATKs new .327 Federal Magnum cartridge. Then, hitting the 2008 SHOT Show a little like Godzilla hitting Tokyo, came the LCP a tiny, sub-10-ounce .380 ACP autoloader whose acronymized name stands for Lightweight Compact Pistol. By the time the show closed, Ruger had taken orders for 87,000 LCPs, such a figure is, to the best of my knowledge, a record in non-military firearms. Since the little one made the biggest splash, by far, well start there

I had one, once upon a time. Some fool had fired a very hot round in it, and bulged the barrel, so I reluctantly traded it off for something else, and I don't even remember what. Should have just bought it a new barrel for shooting, and kept the matched serial numbered one for whatever collector's value it might have had. Perfect hindsight, as usual.
I call it 'better than nothing'. LOL.

Ruger is a MAJOR advertiser in GUNS, and Mossad is paid by GUNS, so I guess it makes sense....that he didn’t mention what a total ripoff of the Kel-Tec P3AT Ruger’s “new” (sic) .380 is.
got a blue one...
I just had a conversation with a friend of mine who survived a gunfight last year. Some thug tried to murder him in the commission of a robbery.
The entire fight was over in less than 4 seconds, and the longest distance between them was less than 5 feet.
It's made a pretty good case study at Quantico, btw. Both participants were armed with basically the same weapon; 7 shot .357 mag revolvers.
Mr. Bad Guy ended up dead, and my friend nearly so. If it weren't for the skill of some very talented EMS and Emergency Room personnel, he would be.
Where did Mr. Good Guy suffer such a wound you ask? Well the nearly fatal round entered his left arm about 3 inches above his elbow.
Mr. Bad Guy ended up dying from a self inflicted head shot. And that's AFTER he took 5 .357 Cor Bon rounds center mass, one of which transected his spine.
Pretty amazing.

Good choice, I was lucky enough to find an unfired Mauser HSC in .380 and also have a Kahr K-9 and S&W 66-1 so I’m covered with lil stuff. The Colt Commanders goes in shoulder holsters and Glocks in pants.
I got it for a really good price, too. It was much less than a Ruger LCP and IMO it's a much better weapon. Granted it's a bit larger, but I'm much more willing to trust my life to a Sig design than Ruger's attempt to 'improve' on a marginal design.
Just my two cents. Your mileage will most certainly vary.

Too close to the heart! I am guessing that he was blowing arterial blood twenty feet out, almost bleeding to death.
He's missing a sizeable chunk of meat from his shoulder and has some nerve damage. But other than that, he's alright.
The cops have 'closed' 2 other murders btw. They believe this guy killed two other guys who are in the same line of work as my friend.

I presume that line of work comes with free med care.

They bought the rights to manufacture it. I wish I had waited until the Ruger was available, but the Kel Tec works and isn’t bad if you put the thumb rest on the magazines.
That would be a good acronym for a 380. "The BTN 380" by Kel Tek.
I have a P3AT that I carry when I'm too lazy to dress properly and carry my Sig or SP101.
I think the 327 Magnum is a solution looking for a problem. I'll give up one round and keep my 357 magnum SP101.
Some people refer to the "rule of threes" in gun fighting. Most fights occur at less than three yards, less than three seconds, and three rounds are fired.
It's catchy, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I practice at distances ranging from 20 feet to 40 feet. I figure if I can hit a target at 40 feet, I ought to be able to hit one at 6 feet.
As I mentioned, this one is pretty interesting in that both of them were armed with essentially the same revolver. Both were 7 shot .357 S&W models. To be perfectly accurate, Good Guy had a Taurus clone, and Bad Guy had the Smith.
Both weapons were empty afterwards.
The last round fired was by Bad Guy who discharged his pistol into his own head.
At least he was courteous enough to save the taxpayers a bunch of money saving, trying, and incarcerating his worthless ass.

quema ropa...LOL! Worked in South America for 10-years and never heard that one.
I love those door breaching muzzle brakes. Good for when you forget your keys.
