USC Ya Later”: What’s Next for College Football?
Fox Sports ^ | 09/26/08 | Kevin Paul

Two weeks ago, the world was convinced the USC Trojans were by far the best team in college football.

Two days ago, the talk was how tough the road would be for the stronger SEC and Big 12 teams to get to the title to face USC.

A few hours ago, everything changed.

Something happened to USC in Corvallis – again. The Trojans left Oregon State’s campus with a quizzical look on each of their faces, in the form of 5’6” Jacquizz Rodgers, who ran big, totaling 186 yards on the ground against a USC defense that many felt was the most dominant in the country. The result: a shocking Oregon State victory, 27-21 over the top ranked Trojans

Then I married a University of Alabmama boy and moved to Alabama 13 years ago and am now a Bama Babe. What am I supposed to do this weekend?

You need to get as far away as possible from that Alab mama's boy.

You're right about Penn State. They could blow everyone out the rest of the season get a no. 1 or 2 ranking and then loose to a SEC or big 12 team.

I don't like to make “if A beats B and B beats C then A is better than C” comparisons. Some teams just match up well against some other teams not others due to the style of Offense and Defense that they play. It would be fun to watch Penn State play USC though.

I think the Pac 10 and Big 10 are both over rated conferences this year. However, that is based on the assumption (from sports media) that USC was the best from the Pac 10 and Ohio State was the best team from the Big 10. I have not seen too much of the other Pac 10 teams—perhaps there is a surprise out there.

"Mizzou Speedbump"

Which will not impede Texas Tech's Air Superiority on it's way to the Big XII Championship!

Agreed. Will it be the Gators, Tigers or Bulldogs? That is the question.

Looks like the winner of the Georgia vs Alabama game will be no 1 next week.
If they bumped USC up to no 1 for beating Virgina then who ever wins UGA/Bama game should be no 1.

I’ll pull for Bama as I’m a Ga. Tech fan, but it would be nice to beat UGA at no 1 at the end of the year.

If they beat UGA, you’ll have to add Bama to the mix, and don’t count Auburn out just yet either.

Ouch! I have a hangover and it’s not alcohol induced. It’s called the Corvallis curse.

Don’t think so, Alabama has too far to jump to get to no 1. Georgia could though

My favorite Teams — 1) UConn (went there but when I was there UConn was in the Yankee Conference), PennState (The only one who didn’t go to PSU), Maine (D1AA) and 4)VERMONT (unbeaten since 1974)
