Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
LOL... ‘zactly.
It’s gonna be kinda wierd. It’s not very often we get the opportunity to take *everything* down. Getting a new UPS in the trade, which is good. But taking the whole headquarters off the grid is sortof a once-in-a-career maneuver. One hopes, anyway.
Yah. When I had my Dillon I think the only rifle I loaded for was my .270. I didn't have a .223 back then or even a 30-30. And yeah, I'd just hold it, though boat-tails will sit in there pretty nice. Of course, for something like 270 there's never quite the volume that you'd load for 223. My loading for that was only ever in the hundreds for the rifle. Not like the many, many thousands of 357. I keep wondering whatever became of my Dillon setup. A friend has it because at the time he was the only one that had space to set it up and we did all the loading then over at his place. I suppose it's been long enough that he just considers it his now. :-) But ammo prices are so darn high now... I ought to get back into it. Plus now I have lots more toys to load for... :-)
You know, your shop sounds like our shop. Hope it works out eventually or at least before rush hour.
yup, the high volume reloading one needs when feeding a semi-auto rifle and or handgun just isn’t there for most rifle applications.
It doesn’t take much ciphering to figure out reloading can pay in short order. Of course there is the offset of shooting more therefore saving more. :-)
When I got my shotgun reloaders I was really going through the bags of shot and kegs of powder in no time at all, or so it seemed at the time. I’m kinda glad I don’t shoot trap like I used to, that would be pricey today.
note to self - buy more componets. :-)
I haven’t been in the market for shotshells for a long time. My trip to the local gun shop for some 00 buck was a shocker. Over a dollar *each* for 12ga 00 buck? dang me...
Most importantly, I have my naked person, and, of course, said naked person heralds disruption and chaos at the beginning of the novel.
All I need to do now is draw maps of Colinas County and Apache Springs, and I can fly without those if necessary.
I was contemplating attending the big write-in at a local comic book/gamers shop ... but I don't think I'm feeling up to that. I like writing at home, with all my reference stuff around me.
Striving for 2k words by 3am!
A transformer blew. They think it might have been done deliberately by a disgruntled employee.. So there's that...
Well, I dunno. I was thinkin’ she’d be rather independent. She’s gonna move into town and cause a fuss amongst all the proper people.
I could make you a store owner if you’d rather. But so far the town only has a drugstore and I’ve got a pharmacist...
Very. :-\ We’ve discussed it at work and decided it started in the day *before* November, on account of it being a leap year and all.
I’m still teetering right on the edge of “am I really going to do this?”
I don’t have a plot I like, don’t have a single clear character, don’t have an opening paragraph. And I’ve been working like crazy on another story.
I *know* it’s good practice, I know for sure I’d come out ahead in some way, but it feels like a school assignment this time around, and I don’t know if I’m going to finish.
I seem to be having the same problem. I always hated those school assignments too.
I feel a little underprepared and such myself but... well, it’s November, what do you do?
It has taken me a couple of solid minutes of blank staring to figure out what in tarnation you are talking about ;)
Batten down the hatches and prepare for winter, start thinking about the holidays, probably watch a little more TV. :~)
We don’t watch tv so I have free time.
And just where were YOU at the time the transformer blew, huh? ;o)
Every town has to have a Mercantile store! Hair could run that!
I’ve been thinking about you too, g’nad!
And thinkin’ about firearms.
I wisht I had a fiream (other than the Daisy).
I’m pretty sure it’s the Holy Spirit talking to me.
I think.
;-)
