Please check in and FReep this poll.
Ping, please.
I don’t think it’s wise. This process looks like it’s going to be bogged down for weeks. Is he not going to campaign any more between now and November?
He should be out highlighting the connection between Fan & Fred and BHO etc.
His presence in Washington isn’t going to change anything IMHO.
A FReep and a bump from OHIO!
Yes, yes, Mac, go to Washington, be a statesman, BUT FOR THE LOVE OF PETE, DON’T TAKE DOWN YOUR ADS!!!!!!!
At least turn Sarah loose.
C’mon, she can take it, and she can REALLY DISH IT OUT!
Thanks. Hope you enjoyed my site.
UPDATE: McCain senior adviser Mark Salter emails: “Yesterday, Harry Reid said that consensus couldn’t be achieved without John McCain’s leadership. John stepped up and is providing that leadership. Now Senator Reid seems to have changed his mind for reasons we’ll let him explain. But what he should understand is that this isn’t about Harry Reid or John McCain or Barack Obama. It’s about the American people and, in the words of Warren Buffet, the financial Pearl Harbor they’re facing. John’s committed to doing his part to help avert that calamity. We hope Senator Reid is too.”
He can take the rest of Sept. off and half of October too.
The debates don’t matter...their just scripted profiling.
2 weeks prior to the election, people will quit waffling and have to make a decision. Thats when it gets exciting!!
Wonderful site
McCain was losing ground to Obama when this economic crisis went to the top of the discussion; this gets him back in the drivers seat.
Of course he has to return, before Obama's camp figures this one out and capitalizes on this photo op. However, McCain should not cancel his TV ads. That's going overboard.
Agree with all you said. It is not wise. If it were Obama wanting a delay we would be saying he couldn’t take the pressure.
Here's my other one you might like:

this bail out plan is a loser and Bush is pushing it!
I think it could prove to be a smart strategic move. If McCain is instrumental in working out an agreement in the next few days that keeps the financial markets from crashing, he will be seen as a leader who got it done, while Obama stays in campaign mode and slings mud and negativity proving he doesn’t care about the people and just wants the markets to fail anyway to boost his poll numbers the worse it gets. Postponing Friday’s debate will play favorably with the American people seeing this crisis is more important and McCain puts country first again. Plus the last debate closest to the election is about the Economy. If McCain is successful getting a fast agreement he saves the day, or even just for the attempt, and will have much bragging points during the last Economic debate that he helped actually do something about this crisis hands on, while Obama only watched from the sidelines like a 2nd string player whining they should have put out a joint statement instead of taking concrete action to help the country.
I myself am getting a sick feeling about this. Oh well, I’ll just wait until Friday to see what happens.
