REMEMBER 9/11: The WTC, Flight 93 and the Pentagon!
Never, never forget the attacks on our country.
We need to be ready to protect this country from all who would do her harm, both foreign and DOMESTIC.
Good morning.
Anyway, maybe it'll wake him up to the fact that democrats will stoop to anything for power.
Good Friday morning everybody! We went to a bluegrass jam last night, the 3rd we've found in Austin so far. It was basically OK, a little slow but OK. There is so much live music in Austin (both on-stage and off) it's really nice to see.
Planning to head home tomorrow if our mail catches up with us. Some of our mail got delayed in delivery due to Ike and we had to leave money with a friend to have it re-forwarded. Hopefully it'll be here by today, otherwise will have daughter send it on down for the 3RD time!
McCain may back alternative to bank bailout
I applaud those who are taking a little time to try and figure out alternatives to simply shafting the taxpayer. It didn't take only 72 hours to create this gawd-awful mess and now isn't the time for poorly thought-out knee-jerk reactiveness.
Speaking of jerks, if Benanke had done something last spring instead of continually rolling out his one-trick-pony show on lowering interest rates, I don't believe we'd be seeing what we're seeing today. The root causes of the problem go waaay back further than Bernanke, of course, but that guy has irritated me for quite some time. (/rant)
Good morning all. Has the sky fallen yet? These are scary times.
RE H Hewitt, my DH enjoys listening to him. Me, not so much. DH also likes Michael Medved. I’m a Rush person, and locally, Roger Hedgecock.
I think Hugh focuses too much on “how he thinks it should be” and misses reality. But I do have to thank him for mentioning FreeRepublic on air once. :)
Good morning.
Good Morning HOB, how are you today?
Good Morning Everyone. Our debate party is still on...we’ll probably see some of nobama debating with himself in MS before a moderator and audience. That should be something to behold.
From where are you checking in, Rav?
You may think you look fat and squatty under all that bundling, but under that bundling, you’re just right.
It’s likely to be a rough day in the markets. I sure hope we don’t see any trading floor coronaries or hear of some trader losing big and committing suicide.
Yes, Greg proved years ago he had good taste.
How are you doing today?
I’m surprised how DRY it still is in Austin. It doesn’t look like they’ve had any rain at all in months.
Are you dry up your way?
(disclaimer: no link at site, ostensibly a copied email from McCain Camp)
Oh Kassie!!!! They say the Lord never gives us more than we can handle, but sometimes I think the Lord sees strength we don’t know we have. I will keep you in my prayers and I know in my heart, that no matter how bad it seems now, good will rise from the bad. (((hugs)))
A late good morning after a night of staring at the ceiling.
Such troubling times. Thank GOODNESS for congresscritters who are willing to slow down the freight train.
Legislation is the art of compromise. None of us should expect to LOVE the compromise. But only that our negotiators are able to get the nastiest stuff thrown overboard.
It would be nice if we could get some unfiltered information, but it’s hard to come by.
I see Toby's back until Monday. Morning Toby!
Hi till - just got to the office. Business is down - everyone's nervous aboout this crisis. I heard a young fellow who is a student at George Mason (Master's in Economics) tell Chris Plante his best buddy works for a Dem Senator on the Hill. The buddy says they could have signed an agreement yesterday, but the Dem's are delaying for political advantage. He also went on to say he was so ashamed and disappointed in his department instructors at GMU who repeatedly stated in the past they wish they had been around to help in the 20's, but who are not speaking out in this crisis! They are showing their true colors, wouldn't you say?
Good morning, pb.
Amazingly well, till. Thanks.
Good morning, HOB.
Unfortunately, I listened to the "dark side" late night talk show people and here are a few of the things they are gleefully talking about:
1. Never in the history of America have we seen a candidate concede the election 6 weeks before the vote, but that is what McCain has done.
2. Obama would have won on his own, but some people will contend he won because McCain's cowardly actions.
Of course, some of the Republican's are going to insist he get rid of the stupid, stupid dead weight around his neck and replace Sarah Palin with someone who has "some" intelligence.
And, as the night went on, the remarks got uglier.
I know I shouldn't listen and I know they are just sick liars, but we need to know what the other side is doing.
Feeling good today? Is Greg home with you? HOw was PT yesterday?
Hi, Bev.
