In the first frame of the Sunday version of "For Better or Worse" there appears to be an Obama symbol on the ball. At first I thought it was a sign of support for O but after looking at it again, I thought the fact that is was next to a stinky diaper, could make it just the opposite. You decide.

Never mind, I think it’s a pepsi symbol. Or maybe it’s just a freakin’ ball. Sorry....
To: a_screen_name
A ball by any other color would still be a ball.

That strip was produced about 20 years ago, so I doubt it was a pro-Obama message. It is very accurate however, as Obama has a lot in common with a stinky diaper.

You really shouldn’t be drinking this early in the morning.
Me, I have an excuse. It’s not morning and it’s a holiday tomorrow. Have another cup of coffee and go read Doonesbury.

Thanks for the advice. As soon as I posted it, I went back a looked at it. I immediately realized the mistake but the damage was done. There really should be a “hall of shame” type thread for this kind of thing.

Lyn Johnson who creates that strip is Canadian. The entire strip is set in Canada, and she has never once even addressed Canadian politics, let alone US politics.

I get the change connotation, but the ball looks like a Pepsi symbol.. Methinks you are reading too much into it.

Actually, the creator has said she will be updating these old strips to fit the current times, so your suggestion of the Obama symbol is entirely possible. Besides, anyone who can make a correlation between Obama and a stinky diaper is alright by me.

Maybe it's some type of conspiracy - Canadian pop band Barenaked Ladies had a similar symbol on one of their album covers once.

Coincidence. That used to be a common design for rubber balls; for all I know, it still is. I had one when I was 5 or so.
