See if Arrowhead or Sparkletts has a glass jug for sale. They only come in 5 gallon sizes. Fill one of those puppies and you can pretty much figure you can buy something really spendy!

Or put the money in a separate savings account and fill the jug a couple of times...THEN you can buy a new car! LOL!

I remember when Sparletts water came in glass jugs. We had a machine in the early 70’s in California. When we had a water-cooler in the 80’s in Virginia (different service), it came in plastic bottles.

I haven't had a car payment in five years. I don't think I'll ever by a new car again. I'll get one of those cars from people who buy one every two years or so. If I want that new car smell I go out and shoot me a noga and skinn it.

That's all well and good, but don't forget the stack effect. And what happens if you put a flame at the top of the stack.

You can take your car to a car wash and get it spritzed with New Car Smell. I don’t like it. I’d rather have old french fries smell.

I had quinoa and carrot dish again for breakfast, but now it’s all gone.

"I had quinoa and carrot dish again for breakfast, but now it’s all gone."

In an emergency, you can decide that breakfast cereal that's still in the box is a leftover, and eat that.

That’s true. I have a carrot and pea dish left from last night, but I’ll probably eat it for lunch.

I don’t think anyone in my family knows what the heel of a loaf of bread tastes like.

Some days I splurge and don’t eat it.

I make them sandwiches with the heel and tell them they can eat it or go hungry.

Odd that the so-called “upper crust” have no idea what bread crust tastes like.

But I bet you never ate a sugar sandwich. (A single slice of bread, with pure cane sugar spread over it. You have to hold it level, and it’s crunchy to eat.)

Sugar sandwich? Ugh, never!

I figure we paid just as much for the heel as for any other slice, so they’d better eat it.

The quality of the heel and toe varies with brands. The toe is the first slice in the bag and the heel is the last. Some you only get a thin thing that is only crust and no bread. What the sandwich is made of is also a factor. Did you toast the bread can play a deciding role in complex decision. You can’t make French Toast with a heel! Toes are good when you are eating outside or camping because it is easier to brush the dirt off. Heels tend to be less floppy so when you make a sandwich with something like scrambled eggs it is less likely to flop open and spill. Many of the “upper crust” don’t know about heel or toes because they have never seen a loaf of bread in a bag.
While sliced bread was around since 1912 it only became available for mass marketing after 1928 with the invention of the first automatic bread slicer.

Fascinating. I find that heels and toes (didn’t know they were different until now) make fewer crumbs!

I am leaving for work, but is better to eat it whole or slice your sandwich in half diagonally or straight across?

Slice it straight across. This produces the least mess of the options, experimentally-verified.
