It's been a while since I really typed something out that had been on my mind, but after the past couple weeks, some things clicked with me and I wanted to type it all out. This is of course just my opinion, but Karla agrees with me, and so far everyone I've mentioned it to agrees. I think any conservative would agree with all of this below.
After watching, listening and absorbing all things Palin the past couple weeks since her selection as McCain's Veep, and processing it all, I have come to the conclusion that there is a strain, an ideological virus in a way, running its course through the modern liberal movement in the Democrat party. Since this kind of liberalism/socialism is a disease in and of itself, this reaction from them to Palin is like a disease within a disease actually.
Consider all they've thrown at her; "She's unqualified". Despite the fact that by any objective analysis she is more qualified to be President than Barak Hussein Obama himself, yet she is running for VICE-President. Then there's "well she has a baby with down syndrome, will she be able to give the child the care he needs with the duties of the Vice-Presidency?" Within an inch of saying "She's not a very good parent for seeking higher office with children" which flies in the face of modern feminism, but then she's not a "real woman or feminist" because she's a conservative Christian, by THEIR standards. They haven't yet said "she had no business having that baby in the first place and not having an abortion since she knew he had down syndrome, and she was irresponsible getting pregnant to begin with", all of which is so disgusting and so repugnant, but I agree with Limbaugh, they haven't said it yet, but I think they will.
Then there's the attacks on her 17 year old daughter Bristol (so much for liberals insisting that kids are off limits) when both Obama worshipers and liberal media (same difference really) and their demands for DNA testing to prove that Trig is Governor Palin's son and not Bristol's son. That one's really something. I'd love some liberal with any kind of knowledge in biology to tell me how a 17 year old girl could give birth in April and then also be pregnant AGAIN within days that same April. If they can bottle that kind of fertility, the entire medical system devoted to helping people have babies, would go under in a week. Personally, to give them a dose of their own medicine, I would like to see Governor Palin consent to the DNA test, if Senator lawyer Barak Hussein Obama and his lawyer wife Michelle would also consent to testing of their girls, since they both admit to having extramarital affairs on each other and there's no guarantee that both of those girls are actually both of theirs. Ooooo, but THAT would be over the "line". Funny how deep that line runs into liberal ground and is only crossed when conservatives ask a sharp question.
Then it gets REALLY thin, with the attacks on her, by all accounts, pretty darn cool husband, bringing up his 22+ year old DUI, before they even got married, which was a onetime arrest, and was in the same period of time that Barak Hussein Obama admitted to having been smoking pot and snorting cocaine, while in both High School AND College, for YEARS, while he studied to be a LAWYER! Nice. Alcohol is legal at least, though clearly driving drunk is inexcusable, but what Barak Hussein Obama was smoking and snorting has always been illegal in the United States. If he couldn't do the easy thing for four years of obeying the law against controlled substances as a LAW STUDENT in his elitist Ivy League college, Harvard, why should anyone think he'll be able to do the hard thing for four years and uphold and defend the laws of the Constitution of the United States of America. And last time I checked, Governor SARAH was the Palin on the ticket, NOT her husband, but at this point, Todd Palin is more qualified to be President than Obama too! He's actually worked and experienced the REAL WORLD!
And of course, our favorite, her abuse of power in the firing of the do nothing Commissioner who wouldn't investigate Trooper Wooten, accusing her of abusing her office to have Wooten dealt with because he was married to her sister at one point. Then you do some digging and wonder, "who hasn't Wooten been married to?" He's on his FOURTH marriage, divorced three times, closing in on four, with four or more assault charges against him, and was finally put under the "gun" as it were, by the new Commissioner because he used his State issued taser on his 12 year old step son!!! Two things amaze me with this. One, that the boys real father didn't beat Wooten to death upon hearing this. I would have. And two, how bitterly ironic it is, that liberals attack conservative parents like myself and my wife, who believe in spanking as disciplinary punishment, but liberals call us child abusers, yet they're willing to ignore a scumbag four time divorced abuser, on the record as making a death threat against Palin's father (to which she didn't retaliate against him) and then finally over look the extreme abuse of a 12 year old boy with his police taser, all in an attempt to bring down Palin. Lord how amazingly hypocritical and ironic!!!
Oh and recently, they are now attacking her saying that the Assembly of God church she grew up in that her Parents still go to in Wasilla, and the Assembly of God church in Juno has attended since becoming Governor, are radical churches because they believe homosexuals can be converted. Um, yeah? And? Hate to break it to them, but 85%+ of Christians in America believe that very thing, because Christians know good and well that God did not MAKE people to be gay and there is no gay gene. Further evidence that the media just doesn't get it. So now, if you are a Christian that believes homosexuals can be converted out of that lifestyle CHOICE, then YOU are a radical Christian EXTREMIST!!! Isn't that nice? Two days ago also, I heard two people who live in Wasilla on the radio complaining that Wasilla is currently inundated by media, hundreds of them, and despite Palin's 80%+ approval rating in Alaska, and the fact she was that popular or more in Wasilla as Mayor for six years, the media only seem interested in talking to people who don't like her, and are seeking them out specifically, turning away people who like and support her. That's more of that objective lack of bias in the media we always hear about when they defend their reporting.
What strikes me about all of this, and the sheer personality plus and impressiveness of Sarah Palin, is the liberal reaction to it, exposing the "real them". It is shrill, like Harry Reid accused her of being. It is bitter. It is hateful. It is downright venomous. It is my opinion that this liberal Obamaite reaction to Sarah Palin should be called "Liberal Ideological Sexism". Because that is what they are; liberal ideological sexists, threatened by and filled with rage and hatred against any conservative Christian woman. They act as though they have the right to persecute women like her, and treat her as though she checked her "femaleness" at the door when she entered politics as a conservative woman. They attack her on all levels, Obamaite and media lapdog alike. And they show us the ultimate epitome of hypocrisy. Because conservatives like myself, and you, and all real conservatives, do not hate or despise liberal woman like Steinem, Clinton, Boxer or Sheehan, or any of them. We simply believe that they're every bit as wrong as their liberal male counterparts, and are simply the other gender. But no contempt. No viciousness. No hate. And these three words and many others are exactly what liberals spew at Palin and all great conservative women like her by proxy; and that's where they make their biggest mistake. There are MILLIONS of great women in this country like Sarah Palin. And they are woefully unimpressed with how she is being treated. Because she dares to oppose abortion, while the liberals call it "Choice", not really meaning you could choose NOT to. And she dares to be a strong Christian in public! And she dared to cross liberalism, and cross them. Well clearly she has to pay. And that is why, man and woman alike, Obamaite and media (again, same same) they are all Liberal Ideological Sexists. Every last one of them. And they don't believe in women's rights anymore than they really believe in true freedom of speech. They believe in freedom of speech for liberals, and everyone else shut the **** up!!! As they demonstrated several times during McCain's speech. Their angry hate filled protest was more important than McCain's right to give his speech uninterrupted. In the same way, they don't believe in women's rights. They believe in liberal extremist baby killing women's rights. As they demonstrated last week when one liberal saying what liberals think when they said that "conservative women are uneducated woman". Direct quote. And it's disgusting, but predictable and consistent; they are liberals after all.
I had reservations for Palin's nomination for exactly 0.000 seconds. First thing I did was look her up and learn all about her I could. The more she spoke and the more I found out the more I thought she was incredible and the perfect pick. She's exactly what true conservatives have wanted the GOP to represent for over a decade now! And speaking for myself and my wife and the friends I've talked to about it, she's the best chance we have for the GOP to return to the real image of social and fiscal conservatism, as it was in the first few years of the Republican majority in the 90s, when they balanced the budget, reduced pork, cut spending, and lowered taxes, which with the Reagan/Bush policies of the 80s, created a strong overall economy which didn't fail until 99/2000 when Clinton's liberal highest ever taxes finally killed the growth. Palin is every good thing every conservative has been hoping for, for many years. Which is the very core reason, I believe, why the liberal Obamaites and media foot soldiers are so scared to death of her, and will do whatever it takes to destroy her. All the more reason to hit them all dead in the face the next two months to ensure she is the first female Vice-President in American history. And the highest ranking conservative to lead the charge in restoring the true fiscal and social conservative movement.
Excellent, that’s EXACTLY the kind of great posts I remember from you. Thanks for that! :)
Right on. Sorta puts the lie to their “we’re for the little guy” schtick, doesn’t it? Seriously, who’s “littler” than an infant with special needs?
I’ve known lots of children with Down syndrome. One of ‘em was in a Sunday school class that used the same room as mine an hour earlier, and every Sunday, he’d nearly break my hand with his overly-enthusiastic handshake. He was one of the sweetest boys I’ve ever known.
Two of our children have special needs, so this is an issue that hits a little too close to home. My wife and I were thrilled when Gov. Palin mentioned special needs advocacy last Wednesday, and I’ve been equally as disgusted with the nastiness coming from liberal bloggers and media types regarding her supposed poor parenting skills. Where are the feminists now?
Women and minorities are oppressed in our society, according to the libs. They don’t stand a chance without special laws, regulations, and special breaks through affirmative action in order to force the evil sexists/racists to make things more “fair”. It is the Democrats who provide these special breaks, and the natural home of such “victims” is the Democrat Party. The “victims” vote for the dims, who happily stay in power and dole out more and more favors in a spiraling cycle toward omnipresent government power and eventual bankruptcy.
When a member of a Victimhood Group jumps ship, it threatens to expose the fallicy of the basic foundation of Democrat power which would lead to the destruction of their party. Naturally, the Left is going to attack like cornered ‘Rats and they will do everything possible to completely destroy their target.
Sarah Palin is the current day Clarence Thomas.
Personally, I hadn’t known her for years, but for a few months I was telling my hubby that it would be a hoot and a half if she were picked.
Especially since I’m not a big McCain fan.

I am just now being made aware of her christian upbringing within the Assembly of God church. I have been within the denomination for over 25 yearsI know the kinds of teaching coming from those pulpits, most of the time it is simply just reaching out to people to know God, to live a life of example and humility, to serve as she has stated ,with a servants heart. I am proud to know that someone from those roots is willing to lay it all down for her country. She is following the example of her ultimate leader: Jesus. Let the left blather on and on, it means nothing in the realm of the eternal.”
Yes indeed, EXACTLY how I feel as well. It’s such a great feeling inside knowing where she’s coming from. If the libs are going to start referring to folks like her, which is US, as radical extremists, they’re pouring gasoline on themselves and then lighting their own match. They’ve already turned off millions of voting conservative Christian and even many moderate women I believe, and now they’re on the fast track to turn off any evangelical Christians that might have been misguided to vote for them before the past couple weeks. Saddleback started that when Obama stated it was “above his pay grade” to answer a question about abortion. Their vengeful hate filled attacks on Palin are finishing up that job quite well now. I wonder what the next voting block will be that they alienate? Hispanics? Blue collar labor union employees? The mind boggles.
The tactic by the left is to throw it all out there to see if anything sticks. I’m trying to figure out the October surprise we all know will be forthcoming.
I’m wondering if the National Enquirer will try to revamp their Palin affair story again.
The McCain camp forcefully and quickly issued the following statement:
The smearing of the Palin family must end, said senior adviser Steve Schmidt. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Governor Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie...The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it...legal action will be considered with regard to this disgraceful smear.
The Enquirer issued a statement only stating incredible allegations...they didn’t state proof, just mentioned allegations. They certainly seemed to back down with the mention of legal action.
Clintonite Ben Altman owns the Enquirer.
>>Where are the feminists now?<<
Sitting at home, dressing their purse dogs up in tutus.
(hi!)
Oh really. That would be rich, but I need proof.
I first read about her after Trig was born, and the more I read, the more I wanted her on the Republican ticket. Imagine my surprise when I opened my browser on the morning of the announcement to find that McCain had made my wish come true.
There are lots of people like you who aren’t particularly big McCain fans who’ve nonetheless decided to support this ticket because of her.
Ha! The skanks among the protestors at the convention don’t strike me as the types to have purse dogs, but there ya go.
(hello!)
Perhaps the word you’re searching for to describe the left is ‘hypocrisy’? http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2073918/posts
Could be cats in baby bonnets, who knows?
Yes, the attackers of Palin are buying yards and yards of rope....
“when did Hussein & michelle admit affairs? I missed that..”
Limbaugh cited that early last week or the week before, I forget which. It was early in the primary campaign I believe, I never did hear the specifics just that they had both commented on not having been faithful through their entire marriage. Makes sense why they fit in so well in the Democrat party, where fidelity is optional.
Yup. They’re helping Obama lose the election.
That point you made is so important. I think the Barracuda aspect of Palin is going to really be key. I just have this gut feeling that her toughness and aggressiveness will pay off big time, especially since she is like that, and doesn’t sacrifice one iota of her likability and attractiveness in being that way. She is the epitome of strong hard working women who didn’t sacrifice traditional family values in becoming so. She’s the complete female package in a political candidate. God willing we’ll all be voting for her at the top of the ticket in eight years.
Gumdrop said: “Weve got one great congresswoman in Michele Bachmann too. Shes pretty, conservative, very smart with a large family and has done foster care. The liberals hate her!”
Maybe she should run for U.S. Senate! Or Governor after Palin. :) The GOP truly couldn’t have too many women like her and Palin in positions of authority. Maybe some strong conservative women in key positions would help keep the conservative men in the Congress/GOP honest and stop them from becoming so weak and apathetic like we saw in the GOP in the late 90s and the past eight years, since that is afterall what cost the GOP the majority. They stopped being conservative and became addicted to courting the moderates.
“I am proud to know that someone from those roots is willing to lay it all down for her country. She is following the example of her ultimate leader: Jesus.”
I look at her as a modern day Esther.
