Thanks, I am better. I still have a headache and food makes me nauseous, but the backache and fever are gone. I won’t be doing anything that can’t be done horizontally from my bed.

...

I definitely won’t be doing THAT either! ;0)!

LOL! Just heard Palin’s 17 year old daughter is pregnant and will soon marry the father of the unborn child. I suppose the MSM will treat this as the ONLY family in America this has EVER happened to. GEEZ! The MSM put me in a snarly mood!

Hi, Bev.

I haven't heard from Toby today. I believe he said that he and his family are high, but is worried about the wind. He doesn't live in Gulfport. He's about 40-60 (?) miles north of there.

I knew he was about 50 miles north and 200' above sea level so wasn't worried about flooding but worried about the wind.

Computer problems continue. My ISP had to disconnect McAfee so I could get on line. Apparently, McAfee is determined I won't get a virus and they are insuring that by not allowing me to get on the Internet.

I think I should deep six mcAfee and go back to AVG. Anyone else have an opinion?

FWIW, I agree with you. I have a private pet theory, too, which goes that some of the viruses are put out by people within the antivirus companies themselves. Then, the viruses are “found” by the companies thereby proving that they are needed to protect against these attacks. /cynicism

Bev, do you know if Microsoft updated your system recently with a new security patch?

I can only speak for myself and xp, but about 1 month ago they updated my computer and I was not able to get on due to the update conflicting with AVG.

I googled and found out that if I removed the recent update I could turn AVG on and connect to the internet.

I have since turned off automatic update with Microsoft. I get a warning to upgrade and I decide to or not.

I found that Microsoft updates conflict with Zone Alarm, too.

Yes, I suppose there was an update because they reinstalled everything yesterday. What did you google in order to remove the update?

Yes, I just heard the news about Palin’s daughter. I believe I heard she is due in 4 months. Let’s see....the MSM/moveon/kos were all screaming about the new son born in April was really the 17-year olds’ son. That would make it where she got pregnant at something like the same time as she delivered the boy in April. Now, I’m a rocket scientist, but I aint no obstetrician/pediatrician, but that don’t (s.i.c.)seem to work now, does it? I wonder if the MSM/kos/moveon people will apologize to Mrs. Palin and her family for generating their EXTREMELY OBNOXIOUS LIES about them? I sorta kinda doubt it.

So, I used AVG for years without a problem and McAfee is responsible for major headaches - they will NOT even answer my questions! They acknowledge my complaint but don't say when they will address the issue.

Do you all think AVG is still pretty good, or should I download Norton? I will appreciate all input!

Its all being driven by fear....they fear the lady

She generated $10 MILLION in a two day period. That has them shaking in their Birkenstocks.

What is your opinion of the VP selection

I have been smiling for three days now! Sara is the real deal. Even my (few) liberal friends here in Alaska will be voting for McCain now! I was at the State Fair yesterday and you would not believe the t shirts and buttons! (Funny they all say: Palin/McCain).

I can't agree with the lack of experience thing. Sara just negotiated and pushed through the Alaska Legislature a $26 Billion natural gas pipeline to the lower 48 states that will be the LARGEST PRIVATE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA! Since a good portion of the line runs through Canada, there was a great deal of negotiating and dealing with "a Foreign Government"

You qualify as an OB 'cause you figured out that she was one month pregnant at the time she delivered in April :-)

I absolutely detest the MSM - and McAfee is right behind them!!!

When I had McAfee when I bought my first computer I had plenty of problems. When I took McAfee off my computer and put Norton on, the problems stopped.

I purchased a new computer in 2002, still have Norton and have no problems.(Knock on wood!) I always thought that whatever was wrong with the first computer was something that had to do with McAfee. Sounds like you feel the same way, bev!
