He’s like another son you know...
Amen, brother!!
If McCain were REALLY smart, he’d extend an invitation to Obama/Biden to join the telethon.

LOL
I bet you McCain does do that
The best part is the number of libs who were keeping their fingers crossed for a hurricane to disrupt the convention! Looks like they’re going to get their wish, though the outcome might be a little different than what they were hoping for.
What the liberal Democrats meant for evil, God means for good... Genesis 50:20
Gustav will hit land between 8 am and 10 am Monday morning.
me
I contributed to both the Red Cross and the Salvation Army after Katrina. This time, it will be the Salvation Army, only.
The word "on the ground" in New Orleans after Katrina was that the Salvation Army had their act together, while the Red Cross didn't.
Here's one example of many postings I read at the time: http://jmbzine.com/2005/09/29/dont-give-money-to-the-red-cross-but-the-salvation-army-is-ok/
This is a good opportunity for Haley Barbour, Bobby Jindal and Charlie Crist to get some good air time. Who is the Governor of Alabama? I’m sure he’s a Republican.
BENTONVILLE - As Gustav closes in the world's largest retailer is gearing up to respond. The Wal-Mart emergency management team is tracking the path of the storm to see where it may hit and what they can do to prepare.
Wal-Mart wants to ensure that it's associates, customers, and communities have the supplies they need to weather a storm like Gustav. They do that through their emergency management operations center-where they watch weather patterns and potential disasters around the world, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Wal-Mart Emergency Management Operations Manager Bryan Koon said, "We're bringing people throughout the company together every morning at 8 o'clock. We start off with a weather update from Lucas McDonald talking about what the latest forecast is for the storm, and what that means for our business, and how it could potentially change in the days ahead."
They've been paying close attention to Gustav-discussing where it could hit and what they need to do to gear up.
Lucas McDonald with the Wal-Mart Emergency Management Operations Center said, "...before Gustav was ever categorized as a tropical depression by the national hurricane center we were watching a tropical wave moving across the Atlantic and saying this is what we have and this is what may be happening here in the next couple of weeks."
With such a big window of where Gustav could make landfall-they say predicting the hardest hit areas is about as easy as forecasting snow in Bentonville. So, preparing stores in that window is essential to making sure they leave no stone unturned.
Koon said, "...we're talking about getting merchandise to areas and making sure that people have access to water, batteries, flashlights, gas cans-all the types of things that people want during a hurricane to prepare for a hurricane."
Wal-Mart also keeps tabs on evacuation plans that would take potentially thousands of people in one direction.
McDonald said, "...facilities along that interstate are going to be very busy. We need to make sure we've got enough water and gas and everything those customers may need."
They hope all their preparation will help them respond effectively.
Koon said, "...ultimately we wanna make sure that the communities in which we operate are able to fully come back after a storm like hurricane Gustav."
The Emergency Management team says Wal-Mart has distribution centers positioned throughout the Southeast so that if a need arises, they can get the product to customers within 24 hours.
After Katrina-Wal-Mart led in corporate cash donations giving more than 18-million dollars to help emergency relief efforts.
Uh, relax. I’m talking about taking part in the telethon. If this is truly about the people in the path, then extending an olive branch to Obama and Biden makes McCain look like the uniter- and the more gracious candidate. It’s a win-win for McCain.
Couple of years back we had a very early, wet snowstorm here. All the leaves were still on the trees, so powerlines were down for miles and outages were very large. I was out for five days. The only place that had generators was Wallyworld. Lowes, Sears etc. were sold out in no time. Also, they did not jack the price!
My bad experiences with the RC date to 1962. Ask any WW II vet what they think of the RC.....then duck.
You shouldn’t be allowed to drink THAT any day. That stuff is like swill water with sugar. Yuck...
Since the bama temple was supposed to look like the WH, I think it would be hilarious if, during the telethon, the backdrop was a montage of pictures of the actual WH...LOL.
Much for fitting for a warrior president and his Valkyrie VP.
That works for me! But, the poke in the eye with the WH graphic would be satisfying, too.
