Premiers Thur. Sept. 25 @ 8PM ET/PT
18 new contestants will compete for the $1 million prize in the jungles of the equatorial African nation of Gabon.
Who will be the sole Survivor?
I remember when the winner bought Cody a motor cycle (a Harley)because she told him she would before the final. I forget the guys’s name; but Cody got to choose between the last two survivors besides himself ... the one that he would go up before the jury with; and rather than choose the guy no one liked;... he chose the lady that had played the game harder. And the jury chose her!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He did the right thing in his mind; and the result slapped him down. He was/is a great guy (from Texas).
That it was. And it was a tacky gimmick.
At the Cook Islands reunion show, one of the black women (Stephannie) was complaining that one of the black men (Nate) actually picked the allies he thought would be best instead of just sticking with his race. You can see the video here.
All the contestants win money for being on Survivor. Last place gets $2,500, and the prizes go up step by step to the second-place finisher’s $100,000 and the winner’s $1 million. Also, the contestants get a set amount of money (either $10,000 or $15,000, I’m not sure which) for appearing on the reunion show.
The effect of Survivor's experience on all of them, and the ones that last a while is really life changing it seems. They grow and find out a lot about their selves they did not know. Big benefits. Maturing and granting them the objective experience of seeing themselves in film.
Excellent.
No! The rant is not over. I wish they would go back to real people. Why recruit when there are thousands who want to play? And if the HAVE to recruit, why not find better people?
Geez........
Tina, I think, was her name.
You could apply again. I’m thinking of applying again. I could lie and say that I’m a bartender, or a model, or in pharmaceutical/medical sales (SO many young women on Survivor seem to be in that field. I can think of four right off the top of my head).
I just posted a link to this not knowing about your post. :-)
Don’t think it hasn’t crossed my mind.
Why not? If Bob was recruited, you certainly have a chance at being recruited. (LOL)
OK...that makes us even.
How about the noble profession of pilates instructor?
thanks again for a great running thread.
at least one of the good guys won. I wouldn’t have thought Bob could do it when their tribe started getting picked off. It aint over til its over.
Interesting that the contestants absolutely hated Sugar. They must have done a really warped edit if she was almost fan favorite. Oh well. See you next season.
Thanks for hosting this thread. You did a great job.
The reason I don’t post, is because I tape the show and watch it the next day. By that time, everythings already been said.
Is there an Amazing Race thread?
From what I watched, Matty was my 2nd fav to Bob. Seemed to me that there was alot about life that Matty could learn from Bob.
Yul and Ozzy's answers to Rebecca's question. I was sad to hear them say what they said. But Yul was smart. He knew that nothing would please a black woman more than talking about how minorities are underrepresented and oppressed. And Ozzy was smart, too, in realizing that no card could possibly trump the race card, so he gave an answer similar to Yul's.
Notice how the two Asians in the jury (Jenny and Brad) nod in agreement at their fellow Asian Yul's speech, but don't at Ozzy's, even though he's saying the same thing. And notice how the white guys (Adam and Jonathan) are rolling their eyes through the whole thing.
As long as people focus on what divides them, rather than what unites them, race relations will remain bad. And a President Obama is just going to make it worse, because he's a divider and a hater of the worst kind. Yes, I said hater. You don't go to hatemonger Jeremiah Wright's sermons every week for 20 years unless you agree with what he's saying.
F left-wing racism and F Obama.
I’m impressed. I’ve never doubted your intelligence, but this excellent. Spot on. excellent insight.
