NautiNurse’s hurricane threads are always very helpful to those in the path.
All we ever get here in Penna is rain by the bucketload.
Exaclty we owe a huge debt of thanks to NN!! She is the best!!
Agreed. I doff my chapeau.
Drive safely! If leaving gives you peace of mind then you’re doing the right thing. Prayers up for you.

I’m in Katy (just west of Houston, approx. 80 miles from Galveston) so even if it comes to Galveston, I’ll stay put.
You really need to keep a watch on this one.
Stay safe dougherty and we will pray.Glad you are leaving. If you can get online let us know how you and the baby are doing.(((Hugs)))
I’m glad it is moving fast. Even though Fay wasn’t a hurricane, it moved so slowly that it dumped a ton of water on us. I hope all goes well for you down there. We camped on Key Largo last year and loved it! Can’t wait to go back - after hurricane season of course....
When the 1900 hurricane hit Galveston there were only two houses left standing in Katy.
There were probably only two houses in Kathy! ;)

hey rodguy, what’s the news on Hanna?
Katy was leveled. So being 80 miles from Galveston with a large storm; shouldn’t make one feel secure.
Jefferson Parish presser up shortly.

I will stay put. I live about 4 miles south of I-10 and that was a parking lot during Rita with people going West.
I was a little girl when Carla came through. We lived in southwest Houston back then. Family from Pasadena, Pearland stayed with us. It was a scary time. Thats when Dan Rather rose to fame. Ugh!
ping to watch
For sure either way he is doing a great job.
bump for later
Thanks much appreciated! Yeah forward speed can really make a huge difference, and you are right this is an entirely different place from Thanksgiving to Easter, different world.
