Didn’t Neanderthals and Homo-sapiens mate together? I thought Neanderthals disappeared due to the mating and inter-breeding, and that Homo-sapiens became the dominant species. At least that was one theory.
There were all kinds of theories, but the two species probably couldn’t interbreed.
I’ve been proposing for years - even here - that bigger-brained Neanderthal was so much smarter than Cro-Magnon man that the average Neanderthal group was as smart as the average college faculty. So while Cro-Magnon was getting on with tinkering, making improved tools and inventing (eventually) the steam engine, Neanderthal was considering transfinite numbers, forming small music appreciation socities and generally saying “Om,” to their eventual disadvantage.
Well, it’s a theory. ;^)
The DNA is going to show interbreeding as they develop better technology. It is already showoing ujp in the limited strains they have now.

Webb Hubbell.
End of speculation.
They actually came up with a proof for the proposition:
I think therefore I am not.
and subsequently vanished.
Creationists have no problem with Neanderthals coexisting with other humans...just different theory as to when.
This is just going to elate the Geico caveman.
Why was the forum down for 6 hours last night? Anyone?
Great, now Neanderthals are clamoring to become an “oppressed minority” (like Muslims). Let’s hope they don’t join the Democrats and demand reparations for having all of their Water Buffalo taken by the “white man”.
They’re so whiny too. Geico this, Geico that.
The Neandertal EnigmaFrayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

Don’t insult Neanderthals like that, what did they ever do to you?
It was the music appreciation.
I don’t think the Geico dudes are Neanders.
Neandertals are real men.
The Geico guys are like the mesozoic metrosexuals. Fanny packs and all that crap.
