I wonder what the record for most rain dropped by a storm is?
Cherchez la Fay.
Winter Haven, in the middle of the state directly east of Tampa, got 2.84 inches of rain from Tuesday to Friday of last week. We get T'storms that produce more rain in an hour.
OTOH - Relations on Merrit Island got over 25 inches. Manatees loved it, new puppy did not.
Sadly, Haiti cannot withstand it either.

OMG patchy frost in August!! We don’t get frost in February!!
This post is useless without pictures! (puppy that is)
;)

I just called my accounts in Panama City and Pensacola and told them I would be there Tuesday, now I’m not sure.
Well I am glad someone is getting a break from Fay,she sure did not give to many passes.
Haiti was a basket case when I left in 86’ I can only imagine what it is like there now.
These computer models leave no doubt that Gustav is going to go somewhere.
Yeah no doubt, the only damage we can get from Gustave is property since all the tourists were kicked out under fay, there aren’t many who returned to kick out again.
Now, there's an accurate prediction. ;o)
That sure didn’t take long...:0/
Wow, pretty risky going out on a limb like that! :)
Many thanks for the ping. Thank you so much for all the work you do on these threads!!
What kind of wind environment is prevailing in the GOM these days? The water temp map there certainly shows potential for development into a major hurricane, especially if it follows the tracks that take it over the western tip of Cuba.
It’s sending a pretty wicked-looking squall line square at PR now.
BTW ... Finally got some rain from Fay in N Georgia this morning and there is more on the way!
Our church helped start an orphanage there after the hurricane (can’t remember which one, but I think it was in 2004). We have mission trips there every year, and the stories are so sad. This is a place that needs so much.

All of the models show it going west and missing FL.

Just as I suspected, I was the recipient of "the stern look" after insisting the hurricane screens be put away yesterday. I'll have to work on my timing next year.
