A male???
And why in the world would anyone think that "distinct" species would NOT have DNA similarities. Kinda like carrot cake and banana cake.

I wonder if an Ethiopian would be upset if you told him, “You’re not a bad looking guy, even with that touch of Neanderthal”

Well, that only leaves a space moving forward in evolution right behind that man, for a woman:)

I’ve got a neighbor down the street whose skull fits the evolution profile of neaderthal, but the guy’s a lawyer. Now, either we all started out as lawyers or the Bible is what it says it is, and this evolution crap is no more than that.

...or the Bible is what it says it is, and this evolution crap is no more than that. There is evidence for evolution...

The Neandertal Enigma
by James Shreeve
Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

How can the first known man pop up - in this evolutionary scenario - without the first known woman giving birth to him?

I wonder if an Ethiopian would be upset if you told him, Youre not a bad looking guy, even with that touch of NeanderthalDoubt it. The Ethiopians I've known (I used to have an Ethiopian roommate) are pretty serene. Granted in isn't a huge sample, and is self selected for ones with enough gumption to immigrate to America...

The chicken-egg question is no quandary; the parents of the first chicken we, by definition, not chickens.
