FireFox Posting Extention Vanity Question
me | 8-17-08 | Me

Firefox uses like myself used to use a cool tool called "view selection source" to steal text from article to post on FR.

View Selection Source let you highlight the text you wanted to steal and you could right click your mouse and select that option and it showed JUST that part you highlighted in HTML form... You could then just copy and paste an article (or whatever text you wanted) to FR to post.

This saved me tons of time instead of wading through tons of HTLM on the page just to see the simple HTML I wanted to use. It was basically useless for a web page developer, but it was perfect for us simple creatures that wanted to paste a few words on a thread to share with our fellow FRers...

Now with newer versions of Firefox, this extension is nowhere to be found. It has simple disappeared to be replaced with more flashy and concise HTML addons. But they don't allow me to highlight and view just the parts I want to see with ease.

Do any of you fine more up to date computer folks know an addition for Firefox that does what I have described.

I sure miss highlight, view, copy the html and paste ease of that old addon...

I use Firefox 2.0.0.16 now, but would like this addon to work with newer FireFox 3.0 versions if possible too, but beggers can't be choosy, so if you have one that works with my version now, I will love to hear from you.

Thanks...

Forget all of that.

Download and install Xinha Here!

It’s the best extension for FR you’ll find for copying formatted HTML , PDF, EXCEL etc to a FR reply.

What version of FireFox are you using. Ver. 2.0.0.16 has this option.

OK< for some reason it has started working again... Please ignore this... I can now highlight and view selection source again. Guess I just had to waste some bandwidth on FR to make it work again. Not sure, kinda embarrassed.

I am not sure why, but I think I had so many other HTML extentions on my Firefox (trying them out) that when I started removing them it let what I wanted to start working again.

If you highlight the text/HTML you want to select, then you can use the right-click View Selection Source. It will mark only the text you have highlighted.

Maybe you just needed to log in.
