Feel bad for him, but respect his decision. Liked his work hated his politics. Godspeed sir.
No more Linda McCartney TV Dinners, no more Newman’s Choice, what are we gonna eat now to feel superior?
A lady orders an ice cream cone and as she walks out of the shop, Paul Newman walks in.
She is dumbstruck. Fumbling around to get her keys out of her purse, she stammers something unintelligible and makes her way out to her car.
Ten seconds later, she walks back into the store with a quizzical look on her face.
"Looking for your ice cream cone?" asks Newman. "It's in your purse."
To be honest, when I first saw the Newman’s Choice products at a supermarket I thought that the “Newman” on the label was a made up person, you know, like Betty Crocker, Aunt Jemima, and Col. Sanders.
can we just leave this man alone......please.....May God take care of him and his family...
I admire the fact that he defeated Hollywood odds and stayed married to the same wife for 50 years.
Didn’t like his political views but I like his various salad dressings and my favorite movie, “Cool Hand Luke”. Got the DVD at home.
He had a great talent and a perfect face.
Cancer is hideous. It’s difficult to see it take someone loved or even just familiar. God be with him and his family.
May his fans take a moment to do something kind for a cancer patient’s family that they actually know.

My late father was related to a member of the “hole in the wall gang” and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was his favorite movie of all time.
Related to “Bub” Meeks, who was involved with the robbery at Montpellier, Idaho, and likely other robberies as well—for the historians. Meeks was later captured and seved prison time.
Ironically a Joe Meeks (brother or cousin of Bub) was involved leading a posse after the gang at another time).
My great grandfather WAS a Joseph Meeks, was cousin of Bub, and was the right age to have been involved. I have some research to do. However Bub also had a brother named Joeseph, but he would have been very young to fit into the dates very well.

So it is easy to understand my Dad’s affection for the movie and the characters. His family was on both sides of the law!!
May God bless him.
