Hi everyone interested - I am Dutch and hence I don't know anything on this Pelosi woman, other than that she's the stepmother of a well-known Dutch journalist. Can you tell me in brief why she's not erm... that popular around here? Please don't misconstrue, it's a serious question. I can give most important U.S. politicians a place by now, but she escapes me still in this respect.
I am one who believes in life. She does not believe in life, she believe in choice. She voted no on banning partial birth abortion. She voted no to make it a federal crime to harm a fetus.
She voted no on banning human cloning.
She voted no on Constitutionally defining marriage and an amendment banning same sex marriage. I do not agree.
She voted no on protecting the Pledge of Allegiance. She voted no on an Amendment that would ban flag desecration.
She voted no on military border patrols to battle drugs & terrorism.
She voted no on allowing school prayer during the War on Terror.
She voted no on scheduling permitting for new oil refineries.
She voted no on authorizing construction of new oil refineries.
She voted no on passage of the Bush Administration national energy policy.
She voted no on implementing Bush-Cheney national energy policy.
She voted yes on prohibiting oil drilling & development in ANWR.
She voted no on speeding up approval of forest thinning projects. (and you wonder why fires spread fast in CA)
She voted no on reducing Marriage Tax by $399B over 10 years.
She voted no on prohibiting lawsuits about obesity against food providers.
She voted no on restricting frivolous lawsuits.
She voted no on prohibiting product misuse lawsuits on gun manufacturers.
She voted no on limiting medical malpractice lawsuits.
She voted no on deploying SDI.
She voted no on permitting commercial airline pilots to carry guns.
She voted no on continuing military recruitment on college campuses.
She voted no on building a fence along the Mexican border.
She voted no on reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment.
She voted no on retaining reduced taxes on capital gains & dividends.
She voted no on providing tax relief and simplification.
She voted no on making the Bush tax cuts permanent.
She voted no on eliminating the Estate Tax (”death tax”).
She voted no on making permanent an increase in the child tax credit.
She voted yes on redeploying US troops out of Iraq starting in 90 days.
She voted no on declaring Iraq part of War on Terror.
She voted no on approving removal of Saddam & valiant service of US troops.
She voted no on authorizing military force in Iraq.
And now you can add drilling more of our own oil to the list of things that I do not agree with her on. Just to name a few.

Nancy Pelosi is a leftest elitist that is running part of the government on her terms and not the terms of the people. Unlike Europe, The United States is not a socialist country, though there are some (like Pelosi) that are trying to steer our country in that direction. We have seen the failures in this and as a result she is using her power to defy the will of the people to have the government listen to the people! She is only popular in her district of San Fransisco, which is left wing radicals.
She’s a hack for the far left. She is beholding to all the fringe groups that hate America. She is a big roadblock to lowering oil prices. Democrats want high oil prices so we can all ride bikes to work. She is an obstructionist to the American way of life! It’s not her damn job to save the earth! What the hells the matter with her?

She only agrees with me 15% of the time. I am surprised by the high number. I can't recall anything that she agrees with me on.
And yes, it is she who should agree with me. The people in our Government are supposed to work for us. We don't work for them.
A quick way to see whether conservatives generally will like a federal politician in the United States is to look at their ACU (American Conservative Union) rating - a number out of 100, the bigger the better (more conservative).
For example, Nancy Pelosi is a Congresswoman from California, so you would look here. In 2007 she had a 0, and her lifetime rating is 2.95, which means she is extremely liberal and leftwing.

Now, we have people like Peloser wanting to take care of me from the cradle to the grave. Well, I am not interested in that. The Government is not very good at fixing problems and I think my God and I can do better on our own. But socialist and commies try to remove God from public view, because they want the people to come to the government for help. All I want from the Feds is a level playing field for all people, maintain the peace from within, and protect us from an outside threat. The rest should be left up to the individual State. In my eyes, the Feds are to big for their own good. I believe the weight of their social programs will break the bank one day. Sometimes, I think it is the goal of the likes of Peloser to do just that.
