Are you really lazy? Would you rather just sit around the house and watch TV all day instead of actually producing and trying to contribute to society? In the political world many conservatives would call those people Democrats but they may have now finally have found an excuse for their lifestyle of living off other people's hard work and money. It is the laziness gene.
New Excuses for Workers: Laziness Gene is Discovered
Is there really a laziness gene? Dr. Sanjay Gupta explained it this way on CNN, "Well, there is some preliminary research now actually looking at this very issue. And since the human genome has been mapped, now, people have been looking at the genome for all sorts of excuses, if you will, for different things, and this may be yet another one of them."

I concede
No! They were correct!
I would amend or posit what they were trying to convey - (apart from loading firewodd) oftentimes the “official” way of doing something is very time consuming and cumbersome. The person or persons from on high who mandate these activities oftentimes have never actually tried to accomplish said task. Have seen this many times, and some very clever thinking. “Work smarter, not harder”, etc.
Radio stations do this too - during the tornados/floods here in the midwest, many “local” stations or what I thought were local stations, just punted and played green-tea and bowel cleansing info-mercials. The ones that ran with it really helped out, because the power was out in some locales and so the best way for information (or at least the only way) to be put out was through battery operated radios.
Yes but your generation wasn’t called upon to bear the loads that the “great generation” had. You don’t hear about the ones that didn’t make it either. I keep thinking back to my grandmothers house which was spotless up till she had to go in a nursing home. She ended up blind, deaf and partial amputee, and I never heard her complain about anything, other than how spoiled us kids were these days.
She told us that for Christmas one year during the 30s, they (shared with sister) got an Orange. Maybe at the time that was a pretty nice deal.
I almost didn’t take the time to ping you.
