The Dragonflies'Lair ~ Thread LV ~ Anniversary Thread
Poets of the Lair | August 1, 2008 | Soaring Feather

My Dragonfly And Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good morning one and all. Big hugs and a kiss for the ladies, (with a box of chocolates), a firm handshake and a cold beer and Ham and cheese sub for the guys, and Tom, well with Tom, you just have to take him with a dose of salts and a shot of single malt.

Well I got the truck fixed, but to do it I had to sell my handguns, so I can’t really say its all good news. No jobs around here if you have grey in your hair, you’re ‘overqualified, you can be discriminated against for having a work ethic, having worked, and learned actual skills. Go figure.

A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trek to the elementary school. As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped up, along with thunder and lightning.

The mother of the little girl felt concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home from school and she herself feared that the electrical storm might harm her child. Following the roar of thunder, lightning, like a flaming sword, would cut through the sky.
Full of concern, the mother quickly got into her car and drove along the route to her child’s school. As she did so, she saw her little girl walking along, but at each flash of lightning, the child would stop, look up and smile.

Another and another were to follow quickly and with each the little girl would look at the streak of light and smile.

When the mother’s car drew up beside the child she lowered the window and called to her, ‘What are you doing? Why do you keep stopping?’ The child answered, ‘I am trying to look pretty. God keeps taking my picture.’

This is only one State...
...If this doesn’t open our eyes nothing will!

From the L.A. Times
1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County (L. A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers…

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking…

10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish. (There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County ... )

11. (All 10 of the above are from the Los Angeles Times)

12. Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare.

13. Over 70% of the United States ‘annual population growth’ (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration.

14. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue!

Where's my pina colada? Somebody really needs to do something about the service at the Pittsburgh Zoo. Look at this empty beverage holder. And they call this a habitat.

Wow. Is that a male or female? It's much more subtle in colouring than those we have here on the east coast.

Beautiful.

Look how easy these ears go back: There's such a thing as too much stroking, even when stroker is the glamorous German pop singer Sarah Connor. Connor christened the Serengeti Safari Park's four three-week-old lion cubs Tyler, Montry, Lex and Mick. (Hodenhagen, Germany.)
