You are right ..... I guess some holidays are more popular than others. Everyone likes the food holidays. LOL

We’ve had fresh peaches for the last 3 weeks; in fact I need to find someone to take some off my hands before they spoil. I’ve given peaches to everyone I know. And we are still celebrating? LOL

Everyday could be ice cream day for me.

I got the recipe for Johnny Cakes out of the July, 1976 issue of Bon Appetit. I have made them for over 30 years. They like to stick to the skillet - so you need oil for sure - I use bacon drippings. They are crispy and almost lacy. Hope you enjoy them, Amy! (Some recipes call for baking powder and/or egg) but I stick to the original.

Happy Friday everyone.

So sorry to all for not responding to your individual posts, life has been very hectic with politics and primary day right around the corner. No, I am not running but friends are and we are really making an impact in a few races. My old opponent last year was just caught cheating on his wife with an intern, you may have seen it on Fox News, another black eye for Buffalo.

I am trying like crazy to get my concrete mixer business up and running, I have had inquiries from all over north and south America and a good prospect in Peru and a couple in Canada. http://www.minimaxconcrete.com/

Then of course we have to work for a living and that is not always an easy thing in Buffalo, this economy has missed every financial upturn since Kennedy. But when the economy gets slow elsewhere, it comes to a standstill here.
