The astonishing spectacle of a leopard savaging a crocodile has been captured for the first time on camera.
Seven more pics at the link. I figured that posting them all would be a no-no.

Here kitty, kitty, kitty. All joking aside, that’s awesome!!
Completely different pictures then what I was expecting.
But very cool.. I see that in miniature every time my Siamese takes down a mouse.
I agree. And I think that leopard just doesn't like crocodiles. Or sees that crocodile as a threat to nearby cubs. Or there's some other reason. ;-)
He may have to go into hiding from PETA after that ... I have the solution...
From the article: "The giant cat raced out of cover provided by scrub and bushes to surprise the crocodile, which was swimming nearby.
A terrible and bloody struggle ensued. Eventually, onlookers were amazed to see the leopard drag the crocodile from the water as the reptile fought back."
Does anybody remember or have a link to a crocodile and lion fighting over a large animal?
WOW!
I think the croc’s name is Obama.
These big cats are enormously strong and have a savage temperament far greater than these big reptiles. I have seen shows on Animal TV where tigers swim across rivers and the crocs stay far away as possible. An average adult tiger is from 600-800 pounds and probably the most powerful ground predator on the earth.
It was the crocodile and lion fighting over a baby water buffalo.

Your comment: “I think that leopard just doesn’t like crocodiles.”
I had the same thought as I read the article.
I remember reading an article about a squirrel that went out of its way to aggravate a rattlesnake. I’ve also seen small birds harassing a large bird. As the expression says, sometimes it’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog that counts.
Ah, the writer has never eaten alligator tail I bet. Lots-O-Meat!
Kind of a silly article.
The size of the croc’s real important here, isn’t it? I doubt the kitty would have had much luck with a 16 footer. While a 2-footer wouldn’t be much trouble.
It’s hard to tell, but I don’t think this is a particularly large crocodile.

What’s worse is that in terms of raw intelligence, tigers and the other big cats are the equal of man. They don’t think the same way we do which handicaps them, but they’re every bit as smart as your average human. Smarter than some, if you include Democrats.
The Romans documented at least one case where a female tiger who had been robbed of her cubs tracked down the man responsible - halfway across the European continent.
Do not screw around with big cats.
Yes, like that kitty getting his own back for his Leopard cousins that were killed by crocodiles :0)
