Most Firefox 2.0 users have already received notification of the updates if they have the update boxes checked. For any that don't, this will provide notice.

One important bit of news is that Firefox 2 will be maintained for another five months until mid-December 2008 at which time everyone should upgrade to Firefox 3

MajorGeeks.com has a 3.0.1 release of Firefox, but the Firefox/Mozilla website doesn’t have the release notes updated for it.

Firefox 3 was incompatible with my two most useful add-ons. I dumped it immediately.

IMHO FF 2.0.0.x is just hitting its stride with all the extensions/themes/plugins I use.

The version of 3 that I have on my Linux box isn’t quite there yet.

I’m holding off on upgrading for the same reasons you are.
