My Dragonfly And Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Well, I have not been there since the 80s, maybe early 90s.
Around the casinos things are glitzy, etc. Driving around the town there were some very run down areas.

I have found sitting on the beach is not my thing..I’ve enjoyed snorkling in clear water in Cancun..I just love looking at the ocean.
I enjoyed Goleta because I could bird watch and enjoy walking..It’s too cold for my southern bones to swim in. The Pacific is cold.
I love to eat anywhere that overlooks water.
The most wonderful experience I ever had at a beach was off the South Carolina coast on a barrier island..I walked waste deep in the water with a school of dolphins..I’d turn and change direction..and so would they.Spiritual.

Well, for heavens sake, so good to see you!!!! Wonderful surprise!
The Lair goes on like the weather, good seasons and slow seasons. We can always use more prolific poets. I am not worth a dang anymore. LOL
My book Glen Gaul Way lies waiting for me to move on it. I must purchase a book layout software, got any good ideas?? Cheap I need cheap but something doable.
Love the Haiku, going on your special page. Always will be a page for starbase. ;0)

Thanks, not the best haiku, but serviceable!
Hmm, book layout software, eh? No, I don't really know anything like that. Maybe just use regular Word. It has templates and stuff, with page layouts and boxes for pictures and things, but I don't know how to use it.
I'll bet there's free book layout software on the internet. Or maybe just write it in Word and the publisher does the layouts, I don't know. But you have already published one book, haven't you? I suppose you had to lay it all out before publishing?
So are you going to put the whole GGW epic in a single book? How long will that take?

We went to the beach to get wind in our hair to stand on the sand and simply to stare. To let the surf tickle toes and dampen our clothes as we played 'run away' from the wavelets at play.
We went to the beach to climb on the rocks find cool shallow pools where we'd take of our socks, and peer in the waters to see what we might find that the waves of the sea, had last left behind.
We went to the beach to find coloured shells the kind that when placed to our ears make the sound of the ocean appear, and gathered rocks that we never would find in the places we walked, for most of the time.
We went to the beach and all that, we did find and the smell of the salt refreshed our tired minds. I'll never forget the laughter and sounds and the freedom to run, on that wet sandy ground.
We went to the beach my family and I and there we were one, with the ocean, the beach, and the sky.

I have PageMaker in my Mac, however, the Mac is sick and I have neglected her for a long time. Just stingy is all.
I know how to use a page layout program, yes, I did my book using that software. A book has to be camera ready before going to the printer. It is a lot of planning and work, which I do not mind at all.
GGW will be the opening chapter. I have been wanting to write and expand GGW, the muse is taking me in another direction. Fickle rascal she is.
You Haiku is up..take a peek.

The conch is here, I hear
the ocean waves, swishing
slapping the shore,
I listen for more
I feel the wet sand
whilst standing on the shore.

Wow! That was super fast! Looks great there at the end, like the dot of a period at the end of a sentence.
I'm sure it's fun to work on your own book, a labor of love. Maybe after you've written the first GGW book, the muse will guide you to expand the rest of the series.

That's lovely.
The conch is here, I hear
the ocean waves, swishing
slapping the shore,
I listen for more
I feel the wet sand
whilst standing on the shore.
SF
And echoing back, to track
the things that interfere
with plans
that stand
the tides, and more, washing up
on the farther shore
