My Dragonfly And Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

“And before he could get to the next line, a dozen rats died.”

My Uncle has a barn full that need lessons in Irish Poetry! Cheaper then Orkin.

Excellent description of catching the words in flight. Hope the new poet will learn the skills of catching the muse and fly with her/him.

I love to share with another little tips for catching the elusive muse.

“another little tips for catching the elusive muse.”

Depending on the muse, a steak dinner, candy, Irish whiskey

My muses tend to be....strange. They crave stories, images, legends, facts...but steak dinners work on the poet! LOL.

Nother poem, fresh off the press:

Memory

He thought he remembered
the way her hand fit into his,
soft, small, gentle,
the way it could drive away his doubts,
but when he took her hand,
lifted her out of the darkness,
he discovered memory paled in comparison.

She thought she remembered
the depths of his amber eyes,
what they said about his soul,
the loneliness, the hope, the need,
burning with an intensity almost never spoken,
but when she saw him there,
devouring her with a look,
drowning her with his hope,
memory failed
as she let herself be swept up
into a reclaimed reality.

You do have a way with words, excellent. Lovely images, I can see the oriental thin silk, the Lotus garden, smell the Jasmine in the air, although you mention none of these things, I know your style, the two connect. ;0)
