I think that there are yellow roses in the White House and all reasoning goes out the window when that happens...;-))

I think it because... well, never mind.

Yes, there are, Jem. That was an extremely politically correct reply, and I understand it in this season of extreme political correctness. Maybe they will give consideration to the fact that they can communicate directly to God instead of having a failed human (even as am I) intercessory between them and their Creator.

If they want to ban me for my beliefs, so be it. Just have lysie remove me from the list.

There were similar reports about one of his daughter's a few years back when she went on one of the walking pilgrimages. I don't recall that there was any reports past the speculation.

I never ask someone what denomination they are. I ask if they follow Christ.

Differences in interpretation and doctrine are human creations. If a brother or sister follows Christ, in a sincere manner, in the best way they know how, they are my brother or sister in Christ.

Even (maybe especially) if I know they are wrong.

I'm not so sure it's about political correctness, as politeness, and not dwelling on perceived differences.

At a remote site, in uniform, far from civilization, I have met with sincere followers of Christ on my knees, and I believe that gathered together, there, He was with us.

None of us followed the same creed, had the same background, but there are some messages that transcend doctrinal differences.

We prayed for our brothers in arms. We prayed for salvation. We prayed for each other.

I think I have been fairly clear that I believe there is one mediator between God and man, the Man, Jesus Christ. I agree with you 2/3rds that we can go directly to God.

I also happen to agree with Johnny. I can meet and pray with anyone in the name of Jesus. Shoot, I can even pray at a moslem religious service. In fact, I have, although the moslems may not have appreciated my prayers.

Please don’t get upset and leave. I don’t think anyone wants to ban anyone from ATRW. We have suffered so much this past year. We need each other.

Several years ago, ATRW became a sidebar item, with our own little category. This made it very easy to find the daily thread and review some days when they were missed. At times, eager thread posters would put their news article or editorial in our category.

I would find this irritating and for a time I would complain to the moderator who would move the thread. Over the years though, I have gotten tired of complaining and/or there are more eager beavers than before.

What do y’all think about this? Is it worth calling it to the attention of the Admin? Am I the only one who hates interlopers in our category?

No-one wants you banned, that's for sure.

Hang around. I'm sure that more stuff will come down the pike. We're no-where near November.

I just saw pictures of Cedar Rapids and the flooding. Prayers are going up from Utah for those affected.

Yes it is. lysie, I am just now getting off work. I know, terrible to be stuck at work on a Friday night. One of those panic days from the powers-that-be. The head of the division asked for some information this morning so that their boss can review it first thing Monday morning. 6.5 hours of trying to figure out how to get a report out of a program because all the experts are off today.

Lesson: Do not ask for anything important on a Friday in the summer. Of course, we peons know this... /rant

Sorry, what I meant to say before I got on my rant was to say that I should be home in about 45 minutes and I can then post what I did to fix my problem.

Thanks for the advice. I have a couple of guys at work whispering in my ear “Buy a Mac. Buy a Mac.” I’m still deciding and saving money... :)

I am in a Bible study group at work. As you know, Mormons are in the majority in Utah. In the study group, there are 2 of us. 12 people total. We have our common belief in Jesus Christ and regard each other as brothers and sisters in the Gospel of Christ. There are doctrinal differences, but so far we have all tried to listen respectfully to each other’s beliefs. And it has worked. We meet once a week at lunch and it is wonderful. It adds a spiritual boost to my day.

Thank you UG. I was here earlier tonite to read and post, but I only read, and did not post.

Perhaps I’m just too sensitive, due to the anguish of the floods.

I saw absolutely No reason to pick a fight. So I just left.

Did you forget something in your tag line? What do we do with the tonic water after stocking up on it? A little lemon, a little gin?

At least you still have internet service. Your ISP must have a couple of routes to the internet, if Quest, or whoever is down.

Multiple routes to the internet are GOOD THINGS(tm) for ISPs.

JD Seal of Approval.

Pick a trashed laptop from the compatibility list and load RedHat. It does most apps that you need.

That's the cheap way out.
