When Steve Jobs first introduced the iPhone in January 2007, he specifically said (video clip) that Apple plans on making "3G phones and all sorts of amazing things in the future". Fast forward to the today (aka "the future") and there's been a growing mountain of evidence that we will see the 3G iPhone on Monday. In fact, as early as March we felt there was enough evidence to recommend people wait to buy an iPhone because of the likely June release.

Mac OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
TUAW first reported that Mac OS 10.6 would be introduced at WWDC with a focus on security, stability, and performance. Arstechnica later revealed that 10.6 is code-named "Snow Leopard" and also expects the software to be Intel-only and released in January 2009. Despite some early doubts about the validity of this rumor, it appears that multiple sources have confirmed these rumors. The timeframe also falls in line with comments by Steve Jobs regarding their plan to continue Mac OS X updates every 12-18 months.

Well...the Treo has a touch screen, so still Check. It doesn't have a multi-touch screen which looks to be interesting but I'm not sure how much utility it adds. But fair enough, the iPhone has something that the Treo doesn't in this category. Then again, I can add Grafitti to the Treo which gives me handwriting recognition.

And an SD card slot. I currently have a 4GB card in. That's a lot of videos and a lot of pictures.

Odd, I can access many web sites other than mobile optimized sites. Blazer does an adequate job on most sites. So basically what you are saying is that the iPhone has a better browser and a bigger screen. Ok, that's fair.
However, with a fully open developer kit for Palm OS, I have my choice of hundreds of third-party apps like IM for the AIM, ICQ, MSN and Jabber networks, a choice of email clients, RSS readers, voice activated dialing, eBook readers, phone system utilities like call blocking and forwarding by caller ID or number, and even a utility that turns the screen into a flashlight.
So generally, my Treo will do everything that the iPhone does. Some things not as well, some things better. And with the hundreds of third-party apps and utilities the Treo is more flexible and it also is not locked into one provider's network.
iPhone 2.0 has handwriting recognition built in... but it is primarily for recognizing the input and conversion of Chinese characters to Chinese text. It doesn't need a stylus and just uses your finger. I am certain with the inate ability to recognize the many complex Chinese characters, that any number of the third party iPhone developers will produce English handwriting recognition.

Apple announced that fully 250,000 people downloaded the free and fully open Software Developers Kit for the iPhone's OS X—and there are already hundreds of apps available for jail-broken iPhones. Starting on the 1st of July, with the release of iPhone OSX 2.0, it will no longer be necessary to jail-break an iPhone to install those apps. One-third of the fortune 500 companies are currently developing iPhone apps.
