I have an interesting photo for our times of financial distress among many, but I don't know how to post it. Any help?

You have to load it onto a webhosting site like photobucket. Then from there you can link it using html. zealot

Is the photo stored on your computer, or on a web server on the Internet?

Where do I type in this ? And does it do something automatically when I type it in, or hit enter, or what?

You put the URL for this thread in your img src tag.

You gotta use the pic's URL.

Try pasting this...

The first step is to get the image uploaded to a website such as Photobucket.com (where you can get a free account).

Then, after you upload to your Photobucket album, you'll see a listing under the picture in the album view that says "Direct Link"

Copy the URL from the Direct Link box and past it in your Free Republic post. For example:

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn307/blueronin44/zealot.jpg

Then add

<img src="
 in front, and
">
after.

It will look like:

<img src="http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn307/blueronin44/zealot.jpg">

Then, hit the POST button, and put on your flame-retardant jammies in anticipation of replies! :-)

see my post #15 about photobucket.com

It hosts your photos that you upload, so you can post them here.

We’ll try to make this easy.

The first step is to upload your picture to a web server.

The easiest place I know to do that is here: http://www.tinypic.com

On that page, click the “Choose File” button and find your image file on your storage device. Then click the “Upload Now” button.

After the picture finishes uploading, your web browser will show a text box labeled “Direct Link for Layouts”. It contains the URL for the uploaded image. Copy that URL and paste it into this thread, and someone will figure out the HTML code needed to embed the image in this page so that everyone can see.

Good luck.

One other note - tinypic.com does not require you to create a new account before using it.

I’m surprised more people don’t use the free web space (that comes standard with pretty much all ISP’s) to host web content.
