I have many caution me..I listen to them and am careful..but I do still go out with the raccoons briefly..
The scrawny coyote I saw twice alarmed me so I quit going out when the raccoons were on the patio for awhile after I glimpsed him. I feared the coyote might have rabies..
I live in town but have a wooded ravine behind me that curves through the neighborhood and the lake is a short distance away so I get critters. The raccoons came first for leftover sunflower seed from birdfeeding..I started putting out extra..and now I put out some catfood if I see them out there..
The fox doesn’t eat anything but peanuts..She got the morning squirrel peanuts this morning.No youngsters today.

I first read her story when I was in grade school. So impressive. Her teacher, name escapes me, always impressed me as much, if not more. That one instant of connectivity, and maybe no one else in the world woild have caught it. Like teaching any child or animal, the opportunity is there and lost, just that quickly.
I am going to check him out on UTube.
I have always had, and still do, a tremendous affintity for creatures, wild or tame. it is a hard thing to ignore them.
Huby was watching a show the other night—some guy in the North Pole or somewhere filming grizzlies, I think. He was within a few feet of them and they paid him no mind. I can see myself doing that in my younger years. He had respect but no fear for them and they knew it. They could also have eaten him in one bite, should they choose to turn. Guess that’s my age talking! LOL

I even tried to learn to read braille. Not much success. Farm work and an inability to sit still, plus the fact that I could see kinda scotched that!
Many people are finding that using sign language is very useful with infants.....(at least that is what I have heard.)
Attacks have happened with those who had great experience with grizzlies..I am a critter lover but don’t picture myself with grizzlies or mountain lions.
I enjoy watching others who interact with wild animals on TV..My grandsons watched me go out to feed the raccoons and got a kick out of it..I swear the raccoons were”on” as though they knew this was performance time.Of course i got a rabies lecture from my son after he watched me with them..
I had lingered with them much longer than usual.

Meg, do - I honestly have never been so taken with an artist in a long time. He's old school soul, blues style, AND HE CAN PLAY ONE HECK OF A MEAN HARMONICA!! He also writes many of his own songs, plays the harmonica AND guitar, and can sing the slow ballads or funky stuff. I prefer the ballads mostly (check out his cover of "Just Once" - that whiskey tenor voice just soars to unbelievable heights)
He's supposed to be releasing a CD of his early works on August 12th - these will be songs he wrote - and working on a new cd for fall, which he will tour. I'm hoping he comes back to Dallas. :)Can you tell I'm one of his biggest cheerleaders? :)
He does have a wonderful voice! That would have been a very good concert! I am envious! :D

Heard that too, and I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Gbaby picks up on every gesture the dogs make. LOL He even makes some of the same facial expressions. I think kids raised with animals have a distinct advantage over those raised without.
Not necessarily grizzlies, but I have been known to approach and befriend animals others wouldn’t go near. Grin.

Wonderful news, Kitty!!! I am so relieved to hear this news, and that Daisy seems to be in good health. This was good news to wake up to, for sure.
