Looking at the "Updated FR Excerpt and Link Only" thread, I see that Gannett Papers are on the "link only" list:
"Received another letter from Gannett Publications, publisher of USAToday, and several other newspapers. Due to contractual arrangements they have with third-party content providers, they have denied our request to allow posting of excerpts. They will only allow the posting of titles and links. Please do not post full text or even excerpts from the following Gannett Web sites: "
I understand why, with the costs of legal time and the likelihood that the MSM/DemocRAT party would want to shut FR down, the site would not want to make use of the "Fair Use" exception to copyright law, per 17 U.S.C. 107 (FR would win, eventually, but would go broke proving its case).
The question, though, is this: the "Updated FR Excerpt and Link Only" thread gives us guidance that we should be able to post titles and links only. But the posting software kills the thread when you enter the URL for the Gannett site. So which is the correct option:
Thanks,
I don’t see this as any great loss, since their papers are good for little more than fish wrap.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Every once in a while I'd like to:
LOL!
You’re right...no self respecting fish would want to be wrapped in that mullet wrapper.
Link in the body, not hotlinked; i.e., you have to copy and paste it into your browser’s address bar. (Sounds weird, but I’ve had the mods remove the hotlink.)
I still laughing...you’re right about the broken clock
analogy.
I lived two blocks away from Allan Neuharth in Cocoa Beach,
Florida for nine years. His papers would lecture us about
our carbon footprints, and the necessity to get better gas mileage, you know the whole leftist mantra about the evils of the SUV, and lo and behold, Mr. Neuharth would come out of the Pumpkin Center (the name of his estate on the beach)
in his Cadillac Escalade.
Now I have no quibble about one driving an Escalade...it’s
just the hypocrisy of the liberal/leftists such as Neuharth
that really frosts me, the never mind what I do, listen to
what I say mentality.
BTW-—Thanks for the contributions that you have made to keep us
informed.
But he cares....and, hey, for all you know, he's bought the appropriate carbon offsets from Algore. So that means it's OK.

Mullet? Sail Cat more likely.
Just summarize the article. That costs the paper money.
