Nikko R2–D2 DVD Projector Limited Edition. They’ve gone and updated the venerable R2–D2 home theater system and boy does it look cool. Check out the awesome video to set your saliva glands aglow. It now throws a 260 inch image onto your wall or screen, features 1800 lumens brightness and a whopping 1800:1 contrast ratio, and comes with the same gorgeously groovy stuff like iPod dock, memory card, USB drive and game console support and a built-in virtual surround 20W speaker system.
The new model also features an FM transmitter out so you can beam sound to your Hi-Fi from anywhere in the room, which is a nice touch. We’re talking $2,900.00/€2,799.00 of ultimate super geek coolness here peeps, and only 4000 pieces are being made for the European market.
The entire system can be controlled with the Millennium Falcon. Since Artoo is fully motorized, just drive him around! Make Artoo move forward, back, turn and spin his headunit! Ever watched movies in your bed? Now it gets even better! Artoo can move its legs backwards… and project on the ceiling! He will even talk to you in his own language using 11 original sounds from the saga… R2-D2 DVD Projector is a scale 1:2 and true to the original from the starwars saga. The price for this item is actually a bargain if you consider what you get…
There are more than a couple of us in the household that would be happy with this!
"Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're My Only Hope"
I would be so down with this *IF* it was a full size replica.
But as a half-size... meh.
I agree. Why go through all the trouble and make it half-size?
Forget it. Having gone through a couple of these, it's all about the lumens baby and you want 2500 minimum. Low lumen units are only good in very low light (ie dark) environments. If you have a big theater room you want something that still looks good with lights on so you can play poker with your buddies and watch football at the same time. Or something else along that same vein.
ohhhhhh, me have material lust ....
I know, it should be full size....and made of metal.
How can you compare them if they are on a shelf and they won't even plug them in and demo them?
I have a five year old that would just love to play with it...
