I think he and the little orangey/beige kitten have the most personality and spunk. From what little I’ve seen...

We're recuperating today. SirKit got out yesterday around noon to start setting up for our concrete pour. Clare, Joseph and I got out there around 3pm, and started weighing out materials, mixing the stuff, and pouring it out. Our little mixer holds about 2-1/2 sq. ft., but 1-3/4 is a better amount; not too large and unworkable. We had to mix 6 loads to fill up the area, even though the slab is only 1-1/2" thick, because we created a step to connect it with a lower slab that we'll pour later. That took up a LOT of concrete! And that was only 1/2 of the part that's directly behind the garage. We have the other 1/2 to pour, then two more slabs that are each 6-1/2' x 18'

It got dark, so we sent Clare and Joseph on in to go get some Quiznos subs for supper. They came back just as we were finishing up, and they helped us cover the area with plastic cause it was starting to sprinkle. When we came in, we were shocked because it was 10pm! No wonder we were so exhausted! He went back out to finish smoothing it, and came in about 1am. He didn't make it to choir practice this morning, but made it to 11am Mass, albeit a little late.

Today was the last day of Choir for the summer, and we had a party at the Choir Director's house afterwards. We came home, and for a while, I was the only conscious person in the house! Everyone else was sacked out!

And so it begins...

Those two ‘minor’ mods are the tip of the iceberg. The SOCOM short rifle should be a fine addition to the collection.

SOCOM..AR..Aug.. decisions, decisions..I know, time is growing short.

Yes they are, got ten, may go back and get another 10. Got a great place for them. Turned the bed and added topsoil so it’s ready for some more. Found a volunteer mullien in the fern bed. It’s not going to stay there, anyone want one?

Great kitten pictures. Gidget is sure focused on them, we bet the kittens will think they are dalabradors in no time at all. You’re right, the kittens and Gidget need their own thread; you’ve had quite a few comments already.

Whew, that was quite a day. We would be reaching for the Advil. It must be great seeing it all come together like it is.

Slow, but sure. We're taking pictures as we go, so we can look back on what we've done. But it was a three Advil night, for sure!

Heh. They sure don't make lembas like they used to. I seem to recall them being bigger.

Do elves make banana pudding?

I’ve got some liatris I need to move, ‘cause they somehow ended up in the middle of the cannas. Can I still safely move them this year?

(I was imagining Hair and ecurbh taking photos with a zoom lens for blackmail purposes...)

Oooh we missed it. Next time... :~) We got our temp fence taken down yesterday so we feel like we have our yard back.

A couple more of the kittens are eating on their own but they still love the dropper... they were swarming me this morning!

They’ve got the concept, then. ;-) That’s good! Are you mixing food into the milk replacement stuff, or just giving it to ‘em straight?

I’m all fired up about the music camp deal right now, after the jam on Saturday and the fact that a good portion of the guitar list is gonna be there and *they’re* all talking about it. My fingers hurt - I played a LOT over the weekend.

I’m fretting about the airline travel, though. :-\ For one, it’s looking like I’ll need to fly out the night before, and two, airlines now only alow one back and one carry-on. Factor in instrument(s), and I’ll be over that for sure; plus I don’t know how gate-checking works and that’s likely how I’d want to go if I *must* check instruments.

*fret**fret**fret*

(And not in the guitar and mando sense)

There’s canned food mixed in with the milk replacer.

I’m leaving Fangorn early today day so that we can take Abby to the vet. Mrs. is out of town and I don’t want Jr. to have to take her by himself. We’re anticipating the worst and hoping for the best. This was the first appointment we could get.

She’s not as bright-eyed this morning. But then again, I wouldn’t be either if I hadn’t eaten or gone to the bathroom in over a week.

Yikes. I imagine not. I’ll hope for the best too, but whatever it is, I hope you can feel good about it and not go broke.

Remember that a purse doesn’t count against your “one carry on” item. So you can always find a big ugly one at goodwill and stuff it full of books and snacks.
