We're recuperating today. SirKit got out yesterday around noon to start setting up for our concrete pour. Clare, Joseph and I got out there around 3pm, and started weighing out materials, mixing the stuff, and pouring it out. Our little mixer holds about 2-1/2 sq. ft., but 1-3/4 is a better amount; not too large and unworkable. We had to mix 6 loads to fill up the area, even though the slab is only 1-1/2" thick, because we created a step to connect it with a lower slab that we'll pour later. That took up a LOT of concrete! And that was only 1/2 of the part that's directly behind the garage. We have the other 1/2 to pour, then two more slabs that are each 6-1/2' x 18'

It got dark, so we sent Clare and Joseph on in to go get some Quiznos subs for supper. They came back just as we were finishing up, and they helped us cover the area with plastic cause it was starting to sprinkle. When we came in, we were shocked because it was 10pm! No wonder we were so exhausted! He went back out to finish smoothing it, and came in about 1am. He didn't make it to choir practice this morning, but made it to 11am Mass, albeit a little late.

Today was the last day of Choir for the summer, and we had a party at the Choir Director's house afterwards. We came home, and for a while, I was the only conscious person in the house! Everyone else was sacked out!

Whew, that was quite a day. We would be reaching for the Advil. It must be great seeing it all come together like it is.
