“Christian Street” Erupts Over Verhoeven Jesus Book
The Conservative Intelligencer ^ | April 25, 2008 | J. Wesley

Posted on 04/29/2008 8:27:18 AM PDT by PreviouslyA-Lurker

A fifth day of rioting and bombings rocked North America and Europe as the Christian community reacted to news of a controversial biography of Jesus Christ. While public officials have appealed for calm, Christian rage seemed only to escalate yesterday as Pope Benedict issued a papal bull calling for the beheading of the book’s author, Paul Verhoeven. Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian “charity”, has announced a $3.2 million reward for anyone fulfilling the papal bull.

The Bush administration denounced the Verhoeven death sentence in a press conference yesterday, drawing criticism from the Barack Obama campaign. The Democratic presidential candidate told reporters, “If elected, I promise to meet with Pope Benedict without conditions. The lib’s get-out-of-accountability card is to claim what they’re doing is simply art or satire. It’s pretty sad.

My strategy for dealing with these attention whores is to ignore them.

I can’t find this story anywhere else?? I would think that 60 deaths in a Kansas movie theater by a suicide bomber would be big news ... has this been verified anywhere else by credible sources or have I missed something?

As one of the keywords point out, the writer has tongue planted firmly in cheek. ;-)

....."Who’s with me?".....

I would, but I can't afford the gas. And the carbon release would just be horrible.

American Satire, when it is done properly like this article, is just bloody brilliant! Every bit as funny as anything the British can dish up.
