This is ridiculous. The public works of the Legislative Counsel Committtee of the State of Oregon should obviously be in the public domain, and there is no justification for their attempts at copyright extortion. Their website should be copied and uploaded to a few thousand sites just to make the point.

I never took copyright law, nor am familiar with Oregon law, but this seems real fishy to me. How can legislature copyright something that is probably required to be in the public domain? If it's Westlaw or Lexis, that's on thing, but these are public documents, aren't they?
