Oh I think KU fans are over it now, just as we got over Spurrier after we won the BCS last year.

The Jayhawks are my favorite team.

I have been waiting for this moment again for a long time.

It tastes so sweet!

Kansas is THE BASKETBALL school in the Big 12. Always has been. Yeah, the Big 12 may be a football conference historically, but Kansas has always been at the top of College Hoops.

One of top 3 or 4 traditions of all time.

LOL! Hey, I don’t have a dog in this hunt.

I am pretty much known as an “ABC fan” to people that know me - that is, “Anybody But Carolina”. I did like what Roy had to say, though.

And hey, at least he isn’t that ugly old Commie, Dean Smith.

You are correct. Calipari made an error. The error proved fatal.

And you know what...I completely forgot it was on (I was packing for a trip last weekend). I’m glad they won and of course showed their dominance over the SEC (Ole Miss). LOL! We’re #66...We’re #66....We’re #66.

I noticed near the end of regulation, there was a graphic that the Eye in the Sky put up, and two of the three items on that graphic turned out to make, I think, a big difference in the game.

Time outs left

Team fouls committed

Possession arrow.

Remember the play midway through ot. where Kansas just swarmed to the ball under or near the Memphis basket? I knew from seeing it 10 minutes earlier that if Kansas got the ball, they would have the possession arrow. Sure enough...

I wonder if Kansas knew they had the arrow...or would have it...cause they sure swarmed to the ball like a team possessed.

So if I, just an ordinary Bruin fan who really didn’t care at first about tonight’s game, other than wanting the team that beat me to get beat (which happened), could realize from hundreds of miles away that Memphis had 3 TOs, and that Kansas had the arrow...why didn’t Calipari?

Makes me all the more mad at Darren Foulison...

Good eye.

Kansas wanted it more and Self outsmarted Calipari and in the end Kansas' win over Davidson probably gave them the nerve to pull it off. Memphis didn't have the nerve.

Heck, they one-up’ed (or perhaps “half-up’ed”) our BCS-NCAA Tourney double of 04-05...

(Although they won the title in hoops, some state school in the Commonwealth of Kentucky beat us in the regional semis)

I wonder how long Rock Chalk Nation is going to hate on Bill after he takes the job at OSU?

From what I’ve heard Self wants to stay in Lawrence. And I’m sure KU will pony up. I know T Boone has a lot of money, but money alone cannot buy the prestige that KU has in basketball.

Yes, but OSU is his Alma Mater. I guess that concept might be a little complex for RCN.

One of top 3 or 4 traditions of all time.

And they would be, in my opinion (and in no particular order): Kansas, North Carolina, UCLA, and Kentucky.

KU alum here. (1968)

Roy is a really nice guy. Great recruiter. Pretty good coach. Had many chances to win it all at KU. Could not prepare his teams to win the big games. He really chapped me off when he always stressed “having fun” at the NCAA tournament and going sightseeing, rather than preparing for important games.

He developed a thin skin just before he left KU. He promised he would stay, then jumped ship. I understand the attraction of your alma mater. Only problem, he should not have sworn he was not leaving.

I think he is happy at NC. I think I am happy he is there, also. I’m not real sure about Self, either. I like him, he has recruited good players, seems to make some stupid coaching moves. He should have done much better the last four years (two first round losses after being highly ranked most of the year!)? He did a great job this year (DUH!), and a good job last year (regional finals).

Next year could be tough if everyone who could go pro does. If those who need more time stay, they could be good again.
