My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

We have dandelions, too! There are some of the yellow flowers near here..also a beautiful patch of bluebonnets and one of evening primroses.

I went looking for pictures of Evening Primrose, I think we have those here. The fields of Bluebonnets take my breath away.

Cats kept me anchored to the bed long after wakey time. I don’t know about you, but the thought of stealing a little extra time felt especially good today.

Let’s go out to eat.

Have a great one!

When Calli is hungry, there is nothing that will stop her incessant pestering for me to get up. When I get up and feed her I have the intention to go back to sleep but I find that I am too much awake to go back to sleep.

Good morning Lairites. I would suppose that somewhere the birds are chirping gleefully and that the sun is up. It is dark here and chilly. Yesterday it was cold jere in the South Bay. Very untypical for this time of year. With the wind blowing so hard, I almost froze my tush off while out on patrol. Todays virtual breakfast menu is:

- Pancake sandwich with choice of bacon or sausage
- Made to order eggs
- Hashbrowns
- Chilled pink grapefruit halves
- Pudding filled pastries
- Assorted yogurt
- Assorted dry cereal
- Chilled white milk
- Dark and rich Columbian coffee

Enjoy,

Chef Tude

Thank you, Chef Tude..A pancake sandwich with bacon sounds great!
We are at 55..warming to 80 today. The birds are singing.
Hope you get some warmer less windy weather.

Good morning Lairites!

The Dialogue of the Spirits
by Sam Walter Foss

Says the Spirit of To-day to the Spirit of All Time:
"Have you seen my big machines?
My fire steeds, thunder-shuttlecocks, that dart from chime to chime,
Hear the lyrics of their driving rods, the modern chant sublime --"
Says the Spirit of To-day to the Spirit of All Time:
"Have you seen my big machines?"

"Hear the thunder of my mills," says the Spirit of To-day.
"Hear my harnessed rivers pant.
Men are jockeys with the lightnings, and they drive them where they may,
They are builders of the cataracts that dare not say them nay,
And the rivers are their drudges," says the Spirit of To-day,
"Hear my harnessed, rivers pant."

Says the Spirit of All Time to the Spirit of To-day:
"Haste and let your work go on.
Tap the fires of the under world to bake your bread, I say;
Belt the tides to sew your garments, hitch the suns to draw your sleigh."
Says the Spirit of All Time to the Spirit of To-day:
"Haste and let your work go on."

"But," says the Spirit of All Time to the Spirit of To-day:
"Tell us, how about your men?
Shall they, like live automatons, still drudge their lives away,
When the rivers, tides and lightnings join to help them on their way?"
Says the Spirit of All Time to the Spirit of To-day:
"Tell us, how about your men?

"Yes, harness every river above the cataract's brink,
And then unharness man.
To earth's reservoir of fire let your giant shaftings sink,
And scourge your drudging thunderbolts -- but give man time to think;
Throw your bridles on the rivers, curb them at the cataract's brink --
And then unharness man."

Says the Spirit of All Time: "In this climax of the years Make no machine of man.
Your harnessed rivers panting are as lyrics in my ears,
And your jockeyed lightnings' clatterings are as music of the spheres,
But 'tis well that you remember, in this climax of the years: Make no machine of man."
