My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The bluebird population has been increasing around here. When I first saw one at the feeder two winters ago I read up on them and found that they had a 3 or 4 stage diet. Bugs are their mainstay but in winter they wil eat high protein birdseed.
So I bought a bluebird house and chickadees moved in. Figures. LOL!

That’s good news regarding increase in the population. Many here are putting up Bluebird boxes - I think that is one good reason for the increase.
Chickadees are sweet little birds too! Moved in eh, LOL.

Some years ago local officials, the local college and conservation commission led efforts to install hundreds of bluebird boxes on local public land and that did the trick. They’ve made a huge comeback.
Did you know that the bluebird is NY’s state bird? Plus the chickadees that took over the bluebird house are MA’s state bird. But I don’t consider that a conflict. ;-)

So........What made the huge comeback?...The boxes, or the birds?

The boxes gave the bluebirds instant refuge from their predators. Even the boxes don’t stop sparrows from getting inside and robbing the nests and the number of boxes help in that.
