Jesse Lee Peterson
Thanks!!! I know, these we’re just off the top of my head. Our DU friends have some silly top conservative list, but we can give them something they can’t seem to perceive, the concept of a “black conservative”....makes their heads explode.
This is a silly list. I see, however, that you have Dr. Sowell on your list. Dr. Sowell is the BEST POLITICAL WRITER ON THE PLANET, regardless of race or nationality (Sowell being an American, like me).
There are 10 of them in public life?
Yes...silly list...I know....
Rude..
I’m amazed at how Liberals and Liberal Blacks can say that all of these people are Uncle Toms, Sellouts, Houseboys, and all of the other vile things said about them
In a perfect world, Sowell would be President.
You want a real black conservative, then you want this guy:
Ward is an American hero, IMHO.
You mean Rudy? He's not black!
I probably wouldn’t call Bill Cosby a conservative, but he deserves mention. He understands things that Wright does not.
That “why I’m no longer a braindead liberal” playright, Mamet,
gave credit to Sowell for his conversion. Especially his economics books.
He also called Sowell the leading philosopher of our time.
Appeals court Judge ,Janice Rogers Brown who should be on the supreme Court.
Janice Rogers Brown Quotes:
“Government is the only enterprise in the world which expands in size when its failures increase”
Janice Rogers Brown: Where government advancesand it advances relentlesslyfreedom is imperiled...When did government cease to be a necessary evil and become a goody bag to solve our private problems?
Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies.
Janice Rogers Brown: All perspectives are not equal...there are ideas worth defending to the death... Freedom is not free. And it will never be the lasting legacy of the lazy or the indifferent.
...collectivism was (and is) fundamentally incompatible with the vision that undergirded this countrys founding. The New Deal, however, inoculated the federal Constitution with a kind of underground collectivist mentality. The Constitution itself was transmuted into a significantly different document...
At its founding and throughout its early history, this regime revered private property ...The Founders viewed the right of property as the guardian of every other right.
Government acts as a siphon, extracting wealth, creating privilege and power, and redistributing it.
“We are heirs to a mind-numbing bureaucracy; subject to a level of legalization that cannot avoid being arbitrary, capricious, and discriminatory. What other outcome is possible in a society in which no adult can wake up, go about their business, and return to their homes without breaking several laws?

I love Star Parker! Good Call!
There is indeed a difference between white and black conservatives. So this list is not that silly.
I’m convinced black conservatives are the new “pioneers”. They take a considerable amount of crap from their peers, especially when it would just be easier to avoid personal responsibility, blame everyone else and be a liberal.
One has to be intelligent and well assured of one’s own beliefs to be a black conservative.
These are indeed fine men in their own right. But lets not forget what kind of grief they are taking in proclaiming their conservatism.
