Somebody spent a *lot* of time carving up rocks back before the last Ice Age meltdown.

Evidence of stone technology at Pumapuncu:

Modular concrete

Andesite block with equi-distant drilled holes

'roads' that lead no-where - 'The Needle' Nazca

evidence of a huge wash-out - 'The Needle' Nazca

iconic depiction of exploding bolide discovered recently

it never rains on the altiplano

We haven't touched the surface of what exists in the area. Thanks for posting the brilliant images, Blam.

leaving aside the "race of giants" silliness...

Your statement is the height of arrogance. We're a speck of dust in the stretch of time and you proclaim us the pinnacle of intelligent civilization in the universe.

Obviously signs of an ancient and highly intelligent civilization.

There’s been more recent archeological research based on fly overs of the northern Amazon of agricultural construction. It looks like much of the northern amazon was settled agrarian - like Laos and Thailand of today, modernized rain forest.
The Maya and Inca had cities, but there certainly could have been a lot more people in the region than there were before 1900.

Yes, that was my first thought, too. And my second thought was the question, "Why?"

Really? When exactly did I say that?

I do stand by the statement I actually made (as opposed to the one you helpfully made up for me) -- assuming that because ancient excavations are large in scale, they must have been done by "a race of giants" is silly.

Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men.

Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the giants ... And we were in our own sight as grasshopper, and so we were in their sight.

Deuteronomy 2:10-11 The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; Which also were accounted giants.

Deuteronomy 2:20-21 That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time.... A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them.

Deuteronomy 3:11 For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was ... nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it.

Joshua 12:4 And the coast of Og king of Bashan, which was of the remnant of the giants.

Joshua 18:16 The valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants.

1 Samuel 17:4 Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

It looks like evidence of farming. The patterns look like those of Asian terraced rice farms.

Personally, I think we discount the technology available to people thousands of years ago. The Romans were able to do things that we couldn’t do until the turn of the 20th century.

There is no reason why they didn’t build boats and trade between cultures.

The article says that skulls with craniums 3 times the size of ours were found here.

However, they are extremely narrow in relation to their length… some 5 feet wide to several thousand feet long.

It's those famous spaghetti fields:

Living is easy with eyes closed
Misunderstanding all you see
Its getting hard to be someone,
but it all works out
It doesnt matter much to me

Let me take you down, cause Im going to
Spagetti fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Spaghetti fields forever

Spaghetti fields forever!

Wow... just WOW!!! Thanks so much for sharing this. And for all the pictures as well (BTW: my computer and DSL handled them all just fine, too)

I’m still hanging on to the hypothesis that Atlantis “sunk” during the world-wide flood spoken of in the Bible and in numerous cultures from around the world. I imagine there were many things “lost” to us in terms of technology, etc... at that time.

I agree. For what it’s worth, Edgar Cayce (and other mystics) claimed that, after the destruction of Atlantis, some of the survivors journeyed to Peru. We may, one day, find that that is indeed the case; and that the technology to move hundred-ton stones came from that ancient advanced race.

I can’t wait to see the photos since I’m late for work, but I know that Lake Titicaca is surrounded by the extensive remains of raised terrace farming. An anthropologist at the U of Chicago is working with local Indians to restore them for crop growing. The establish their own little microclimate and allow things like strawberries to be grown at a much higher elevation. He said there are remains of raised terrace farming in Thailand as well.
